Condor Knives

Also, the knife itself is called a Nagasa style knife

 Joezilla gets ten points extra credit for his shared research but is also put on the list of students to watch out for. There is always one in every class.:D

Thanks for the interesting information. Faiaoga

I watched a guy SLAM a knife i gave him to sharpen on his diamond wheel. He promised me it wouldn't burn the edge, so I used the knife, and put pressure on the edge to the side. All up and down the blade. The only spots that bent, were the ones he sharpened. He now has a squirt bottle next to his rig.

Yikes! Yeah a light touch and frequent cooling are a must to mitigate heat buildup. Hope it wasn't an expensive one.

Oo OOOO! Me!! Me!!! :::Raises hand frantically in the back row of the classroom:::: I know this one!!! (I better since I named it)

wiki:
The Matagi (Japanese: 又鬼) are traditional winter hunters of the Tōhoku region of northern Japan, most famously today in the Shirakami-Sanchi forest between Akita and Aomori. They hunt deer and bear, and their culture has much in common with the bear cult of the Ainu. They live in small hamlets of the mountain beech forests of Tōhoku and engage in agriculture during the planting and harvest season. In the winter and early spring, they form hunting bands that spend weeks at a time in the forest. With the introduction of guns in the 20th century, the need for group hunting for bear has diminished, leading to a decline in Matagi culture.

If you look up Matagi knife, you will see the blade.

I remember these guys being discussed a long time ago in a thread on the Bushman. I loved the knife style when I saw it then and I still love it now! I hope these are amongst the earlier models to see the light of day in the upcoming year as I know for a fact I'll be replacing my Bushman with one.

I still gotta get me a Warlock with the updated sheath !!! :D Any thought as to avail on these ???

They'll also be spending a lot of focused effort in the upcoming year to improve product quality tolerances, which ought to be nice! When they do 'em right they do 'em RIGHT. If they can get them all up to that level they'll be unstoppable!

OMG...you again...I'm still drooling over the Condor catalog you threw in my order...you know I'm weak willed.
What's the new chopper that's bigger than the Boomslang???

Just gave away 2 Moras to a couple of young guys getting into self reliance so I can buy more Condors.

We need more info on this please !!!!

Absolutely loving the new parang and speed machete designs, looks like I need to set aside another $100 or so for the condor fund. I still have a village parang that has been sitting in storage since I moved to the city termporarily and haven't been able to get out to try it.

Damn 80 hr work weeks :(

Up until recently I had some in stock with the shape of the throat on the sheath of proper shape. I believe it's been completely fixed. Naturally old stock will still have the issue.

Wow. These do seem like great values. I think the Hudson Bay is next on my list. Thanks for the info.

Now if Condor could just keep up with demand. It's kinda annoying when you go looking for stuff and nobody has them in stock. I'm wondering what MSRP is on the Bushcraft Parang, Speed Machete and Matagi is.

They're going to be working really hard this year on improving their turnaround time for production as well their QC. That's the reason why they unveiled so few models this year.

The Tactana and the Parang are crazy cool, the speed machete is also cool, hell all of them are pretty sweet.
