For the most part, I'm a light user as well.
I work in commercial construction and it's imperative that I carry a knife. I have one knife that I have designated "work knife" and even in my daily uses, I still don't consider it as hard use. I cut different things and use it for scrapping mostly but I don't abuse it by using it for purposes that it is not intended to be used for. It's pretty scratched up but I make sure I always keep it sharp.
On weekends or other days off...I carry one of my better knives. It's fun to look into my knife drawer and gaze at the collection to see which one will grace my pocket with it's presence, LOL.
I live in the city as well, so not having the great outdoors as my backyard kind of limits my EDC uses.
