Just got the new Blade in last night and saw your "Sidekick" blade in it!

You guys are too much :D How lucky am I huh? That was the best picture that I have been able to take and I was lucky to get in the mag. Now I have to keep my momentum going. This young pup has alot to learn still...

That was the first SideKick pattern I made and my first knife with a bolster. It lives in Oregon now and shares a hip with a Caffrey knife. Just knowing the owner splits his SideKick carry time with a Caffrey is praise enough. :D

My hats off to the guys on this forum for making my learning be as enjoyable as it is.

Way to Go Brian,

Dont forget us little old broken down knifemakers when you get the big contract :)

Mark - I think all the good makers stay small at heart.
Hey...what contract :D ! That would be cool to design knives for a company like Kit does and still work as a maker. I dont see how J., Dan and some of the others do it...I am still too slow and new to even think about the bigtime but we can dream :D :D cant we?

I still say a big THANK YOU to everyone in this forum and I dedicate that knife being in Blade as a symbol of how each of us here help keep our work and abilities growing. You guys deserve it(being in the mag) as much as me!

What I am gratfull for is answering questions other makers email me about. Lord knows I ask enough questions. ;)

that's awesome man, congrats!
I think they should have put that warnclif in there!
is that still available?
one thing I wanted to ask, how does the etched O1 stand up to corrosion?

paintfool-Email sent- ;)

Email me if you dont get it...

It's lonely at the top Brian.
Someday, you'll Be a cranky old goat and only post to plug ads for your stuff and tell everybody how you saved company X from certain bankruptcy. :footinmou :D

For those that have trouble telling when I'm being hateful...yes that was a private dig, but not at you Brian.

You deserved the recognition. You've worked darn hard to get to this point and it shows. That is a beautiful knife. I've said this to a number of the newer (That's a relative term) makers here .... but I enjoy watching the more talented makers progress as much as I enjoy making knives.

I never realized you had to actually send a picture to the knife magazines to get in them :) He he he. What are you going to do now Brian when you get so swamped with orders that you cant see straight. That will teach you to send photos to magazines :)

Oh Sh** Mark! I hadnt thought that far ahead ;)

Hince the new building space ;) I hope it will get me in the shop more since I wont have to move lawn equipment out to work!! :D I cant wait and I am taking the day off to at least get wood for my bench tops.

Hey Peter - dont look for me to be pluging my stuff here just for plugs ya know....that aint no fun for anyone ;) If I get that way...feel free to wack me on the back of my noggin'. Mark will loan you a few walops he still owes me :D

I dont know what page. I dont have an issue yet. Its in the Feb 2005 isue in the "Whats New" section.

After a few more posts VV, you will have talked to a lot more. Both rising and at their apex! ;)

You can say that again Pete. There are alot more talented folks here than me. I am amazed at the wealth of talent here. Just on this shoptalk forum alone. Hell, I am still way wet behind the ears :D (And glad to know that)

Way to go Brian! :D It makes you feel good don't it? I was in Blade (Aug. issue) it makes your confidence soar. Great news! :D
