Congratulating Airman Koyote Girl

The air force works differently. They provide you with a guaranty of one of your job choices, but due to their staffing method can't give you a specific job until it becomes available. You only have to choose 4 jobs minimum, but can choose as many, in order, as you like. I had 11 on my list.

Talfuchre: I like my brains where they are.... in my head. I don't need a screw top :D

AHEM...I resemble that last remark also. lol. The screwtop just makes it easier to input information in a hurry.

The Air Farce uhum I mean Air Force is the same as every other branch in that they garuantee you will probably work in one of the MOS fields that you choose. However, those fields can have many not so glamorous jobs to go along with the one flashy one they use to get people to sign up for that field. Also, to whoever wanted to know how you can swear in without an MOS it's called Delayed Entry Program, it's basically a feel good deal that recruiters can hang over your head if you change your mind. Legally, they don't have a leg to stand on but they won't admit to it until you call your congressperson.

Koyote Girl, good on ya and welcome to the family. Someone said for you to take advantage of the educational benefits and they were right, sign up for them even if you don't plan on using them. You never know what the future holds. Also, take it from a guy who worked as a recruiter for a while sign up for the college fund not the GI Bill, the enlistment contract must say college fund. Exactly the same cost and benefits as the GI Bill but it pays more to you when you use it.

The three biggest growth fields I see for the USAF are ones they really don't want; logistics, UAVs, and data analysis. Good luck to you.

I wish my parents were as supportive when I joined up. I was several weeks into basic before they answered any of my letters.

Good luck koyote girl.

Congrats-Be safe. Yes take all the educational opportunities you can. I learned a trade that has carried me around the world and made me some good money. My memories of my time in the USAF may be better than they were but it was a good time.

Koyote that's a young lady to be proud of for sure.

Koyote Girl I ain't got no advice for you that your dad won't already be giving you. Here's you a good ol'Navy Ata'girl.

Congratulations, Sierra, on your service to our country. Enlisting is a big step in your life, but it will be exciting, too.

I'm an old Marine, myself, but I have a niece serving in the Air Force, and I couldn't be prouder of her.

Congrats and thank you for your service.
Remember that Navy is relevent to the Air Force as well. Never Again Volunteer Yourself!

Good going. Depending on how high your ASVAB scores are will decide your choice of jobs, (afsc's).
Don't let the TI's rattle you to much, keep a level head and you'll be alright.
It won't hurt to get a good pair of running shoes or they will issue a pair POS gym shoes. Start jogging, doing push ups, sit ups, etc. to get into shape. You'll do just fine.

KG won't admit it, but her job choices were....broad. Really broad. none of her scores, AFQT, A, G, M, E were under 92.

!!!!!!
