Hello fellow members of the sharp pointy community. I will be starting a new job in July and am considering a new knife to carry.
I have worked in food service for the past 14 years and it really didn't matter what I carried. Since using 10 inch chef knives, cleavers, carving knives and the like was normal, no one would bat an eye at even the most aggressive pocket knife.
I will be working in an environment where knives are probably looked upon as deadly weapons instead of tools. (Legal, but frowned upon)
I have a SAK cadet that I will have with me. However, Im Looking for something that I can clip to my pocket.
Requirements:
Some form of a locking mechanism
Non tactical looking
Plain edge
Must have pocket clip
Blade under 3 inches
As non threatening as possible
Under $100

Currently considering a spyderco delica, but wold some other suggestions. Thanks.

Watch for a LNIB Spyderco Chaparral on the Exchange here. Perfect office carry knife with a discreet, deep carry pocket clip.

Heck, even brand new from an authorized dealer, they only come in a bit above your spending limit. Good luck in your search!

I would really recommend the Delica, maybe in one of the funky handle colors. Just a great knife all around.

I'll second the delica. Sheeple friendly and an excellent user. Another one to look at in a different category would be a case Russ lock. Traditional looking with some modern characteristics.

Get a Spyderco Delica in your choice of colors. If you want to go smaller, get a Dragonfly in whatever color floats your boat.

Case Trapperlock. Should tick all the boxes you mentioned, comes in a variety of covers, ubiquitously available and wouldn't threaten anyone with microaggressions (or the regular kind) even in their safe spaces.

Crkt ignitor looks pretty office friendly. Not a wide blade but i believe it is longer than 3 inches. Its a liner lock plus has a safety so it won't open unless you try to.

All good suggestions so far. You might even consider getting the "safety orange" Delica to really make it nonthreatening (and harder to lose)

Also a good option is the Cold Steel Tuff Lite. It's the little folding boxcutter that could:

That Voyager is probably not going to fit the bill...

Blade under 3 inches
As non threatening as possible
Under $100

I point your attention to the highlighted requirements. :D

I always recommend the Kershaw Leek for a small folder. I'm also liking my Benchmade 903 Mini Stryker lately. Spyderco Ambitious for a cheapie.

Of course, my first suggestion is to not care what other people think, and carry whatever you want!
