Considering a Shirogorov

Shirogorov a Russian company owned by a former KGB/GRU current FSB/GRU members... Not a patriotic thing to do :) Shirogorov is a Russian knife company operated by the Shirogorov brothers who were part of Soviet Alfpha special forces and members of GRU (Military Intelligence) current FSB and GRU. Their knives are unreasonably overpriced and whoever is buying Shirogorov knife is contributing to Putin dictatorship, Kremlin's politics and doing very unpatriotic job to America.

Not many Americans know this unfortunately and pay premium for this OK quality Russian crap with good M390 blades. All you do is indirectly contribute to Russia's politics and aggression...

Be a patriot buy American - ZT, Benchmade, Paragon, Microtech, Hogue, etc..
This!

Buy Spartan.

I've got two at Elite Grade for less than the price of one from the land of...nevermind.

No offense to Spartan but that is my definition of OK quality. Every one I’ve handle is very thick behind the edge and uneven ground. S45vn also does nothing for me especially in those dimensions.

Your political viewpoints aside and other knife companies recommendations I’m hoping for someone’s experience for long term/ harder use on their Shiros

While I don't own a Shiro, I do own a Cheburkov and a Biryukov, and they are excellent quality. Most of the Shiro designs don't appeal to me, except for the carbon fiber liner locks. The cost is a bit prohibitive, especially now with Russian knives being more difficult to get.

As far as the politics, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs. However, I don't necessarily support "buy American." There are many American countries that are NOT patriots, and are the opposite.

No offense taken.

I do appreciate your difference of opinion and your diplomatic way of expressing it.

There is a Russian designed folding knife named ZT 0452, which has kept me from spending 3x or even more on buying some of the Russian brands mentioned in this thread.
