Considering a 'wilderness' survival knife, interested in feedback

Greetings one & all!..I have been living off and on, out in the woods for prolonged periods, for a while now and I use what I have always used: An ancient R. H. Ruana 26~C semi~skinner[4.75=BL], Ruana 22~A light hatchet[BT 4.25], Ruana 30~A Bowie[9.50=BL]. These three are all my ESSENTIALS in the blade department. They will cut, chop, skin & cape game, cook food and battle better than anything I have ever seen anywhere, ever! And then the sun rises again the following day and 6 or 7 passes over the old 'soft~med arkansaws' stone with a little creek or lake water, and we are ready to do it all over again.

Ruana's are almost indestructable[molten aluminum pured onto knife tang-not glued & sottered] and hold an edge as well as sharpen up in a heartbeat with there high-carbon spring steel, differentially tempered, and elk stag dovetailed handles. They will not win any beauty pagents, but they are as rugged as a Brown Bear and just as tough. They used to be extremely cheap to purchase, and although the prices have risen to keep up with the 'collecting crowd', they are still the best deal going...

... Now, if I could only chose one knife, it would have to be the 30~A Bowie! 9 1/2 inch blade with a sharpened 3 inch clip point makes it the mainstay for protection and survival! It will chop 5-6 inch round trees with ease for shelters, fire kindling and litters. It will fillet large and small fish as well as skin medium to large game. It will slice and cut food and even brake a deer or elk brisket and quarter up game in a pinch... Well now, there, you have got my 2 cents... Abundant Blessings To All!

Lately I has really been craving a Beck WSK (Tracker Knife). I hear that the wait for a Beck is now over a year long now. :grumpy:

I hate waiting for new toys. ;)

Amen to that.. I am on my last 6 months out of 10 on a new 30~A from old man Vic Hangas @ RKW my self so I feel your pain! But the quality is always there, so I guess we have to say "it's worth the wait" even know we both know that we HATE TO WAIT!!
