considering stripping tglb

OK the show must go on :D. Here she is all stripped. Here are a few crappy phone pics with bad lighting. Still needs a few touch-ups and I need to remove the handle to finish the handle and pummel. It was a lot of work... forgot what a pain tanker gray is to remove.

Can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would want to send a Comp. Finish TGLB back to Busse because it didn't look "refined" enough--- yet it happened, en masse, and thus ended the CF era thru the website...:grumpy:

On the positive side, the lack of factory CF has forced many of us to evolve and craft our own cottage Comp. Finishes...:)

In the final analysis, a homebrew CF might be the ultimate expression of the Busse spirit...blood & sweat & sore, raw fingers...

Personally speaking, I value my blades that I have "worked" on even more than a Custom Shop offering....No offense, Garth...

This thread, IMHO, demonstrates a high expression of Busse love....KniferMan, your TGLB is great!

Never felt the need to recloth a stripper--- but I have coated blades that are in danger of being defrocked the more I think about it

This brought a tear to my eye. It's a true tribute to the Busse spirit I totally agree.

I also just put a nuke treatment on my fbm ssshhhh don't tell Garth :D.

Very cool to read this, and love the way this thread evolved! I hope to add some pics sometime this weekend, after I had another go at my tglb. Kniferman--and anyone else going through the same process--please feel free to post your stripping project here. We can pool the info on the process/ results for all to see. Strip 'em down and sharpen 'em up!
