Constant trade offers to people that don't want trades. Consensus?

There are certain members here that are on a mission to dump their crap at the exchange. Is there a rule or guideline when it comes to said individuals offering their trade? I can live with a PM but when said idiot posts within seconds on your thread it makes me want to punch him in the groin.

NO TRADES clearly stated but without fail... Any way, just wondering what y'all think.

First, maybe you could lose the language...
This part of the forum is G rated.

As for your issue, it can get annoying...
Obviously you are clearly stating "NO TRADES"

Anymore than being told once, and the "ignore list" might be a suitable place for that/those individuals.

Not sure if that blocks PM's, maybe someone can answer that?

I agree. There is 1 member here (think we are talking about same dude) who seems to pm everyone trying to get rid of his junk knife. If it's clearly marked "no trades" then they should go by that, if not then asking is ok but seriously don't post to every member asking if they want to trade. That's to close to trolling and when people see it, it makes them not want to do business with the troll.

Wasn't aware of G rated portions of the forum. Thanks

My real issue is if it's a great deal, people automatically assume someone snagged it.. when In reality he's just.. trolling, well that's a good way to look at it

Welcome to the real world of some inept BF members that can't read posts properly
Happens all the time..
No trade offers simply stated..means that..BUT as always..The offers come in...
Without fail..

Is he posting in the thread or PMing?
I would have to check the rules, but posting offers in the threads is at least poor etiquette .

Human problem. I call these types horse traders. Lots of horse traders. Doing all they can to try to get over on someone. Horse traders dont care about rules, conducting proper business or any decency. They only care about trying to get one over on someone. They are all over in all industries and businesses. They drive me crazy but its nothing new and won't ever go away. Best to ignore them or nicely ask them to move along.

These comments are posted, not PM'd. They usually consist of "PM incoming" or "Trade offer sent". For my specific scenario I specified that I had over extended myself financially by purchasing more than one knife and needed to recoup funds. I recognize it's a minor nuisance and not a major issue but it would be a great addition to the rule book.

If the offer had been spelled out in the post, it would be against the rules. They say to save your offers to emails or something like that. PM sent type of things don't seem to be an infraction and you see them all over the sales exchange. While totally unnecessary, I don't think you will loose sales due to it. As a buyer I consider them non events and act as if the item is still available or at least may be available. If I latter find out it was taken-so be it.
People just don't seem to understand No trades does mean no trades and very few trade down.

It's annoyances such as these that are all a part of the deal when you decide to try and sell things whether it be here or anywhere else. Complaining about it may make you feel better momentarily but your not going to change it. Just come up with a polite standard canned reply and then copy and paste it into your response and move on.

I don't think I have ever sold a knife that has not received some sort of offer ... This is after posting NO TRADES multiple times in the thread . And of coarse you get the customary PM sent or Message Sent to totally derail your for sale thread . For the people who ignore the request of the seller and still offer up XYZ for whatever I am selling... I am never going to trade with you .. Ever . And stop posting PM sent your screwing me .

I say this in fun we are never going to change these guys .. They truly believe that once your hear there multiple knife offer there is no way you can turn them down . But please consider that threads for sale cant be bumped so once we go to page two its over for us for two weeks . I definitely pass over for sale threads that state Message sent just figuring its gone...

I'm not sure if this happens in other hobby forums .

Do not respond to unwelcome offers. Ignore them. If they PM, email, or Visitor Message, delete them. The less attention you pay them, the less damage they do to your sale.

IF they go on at length with specific offers, Report Post and ask us to clean up the thread. Of all the nuisance jobs moderators can take care of, this is about the easiest and most satisfying. :p

I've done the following with good success:

Step 1- Post in my thread something like "No trades. If you offer a trade, don't expect a response"
Step 2- Don't respond to trade offers

This right here^^^

You don't list your terms clearly. You are not saying no trades. Further, you should read the last thread talking about the term "net". Lastly, you specifically ask for friends and family payment. You will be going on my ignore list.

I don't let myself get upset over things like this.

It's really not a big deal. If you're not interested in trades, simply ignore the offer. Especially if you've stated it clearly within your post. Which it appears you were not.

If it's one individual in particular and he doesn't get the idea, the ignore function functions perfectly.

Best

I don't like it either...it cruds up my sales thread. Some folks just cannot help themselves; low mentality may play a part.

The is one specific member who has posted the same trade in at least 3 of my threads even though I said no trades and said no specifically to his trade multiple times. If you've ever sold a fixed blade he has likely posted in your thread too.
