I love the Bravo-1... my son loves the Northstar...Excellent knives
I really like the Bravo-1. It was going to be my first Barkie but then I noticed the thick edge and saber-convex grind... and I was looking for something better suited for food prep and slicing since I already have an F1 and RAT-7 for thrashing arround.
What kind of sheat did you get it with? I think it comes just with a Kydex sheat and that you can get an extra leather one... Any input on this?

nice Knives - -was your appendix ruptured? that's a good sized incision for an appendectomy.

I have a bark river Fox River & Northstar - neither was what I would call shaving sharp when they arrived - they were sharp, just not razor sharp. It took a little stropping to get them up to a really sharp edge.

Thank God my appendix was not ruptured... I wasn't feeling that bad either. Let me tell you the whole story (I will try to make it short). When I was like 8 years old I had really bad abdominal pain. My father and uncle took me to the hospital (literaly, I was folded in half and couldn't even stand up straight or walk). They touched me, felt me and said it was the appendix for sure... but they made some blood analysis and they came out clean:eek:. They kept me in the hospital for a day and a half and since the pain retrieved... they sent me home.

From then on I have been suffering from that like two or three times every year... Sometimes it lasted just a day, sometimes three days... I knew what was all about but I felt confident because I knew it would go away sooner or later. Didn't bother me much. The problem is that I am a climber and expend quite a few days every year high up in peaks where when something goes wrong... it goes REALLY wrong. I couldn't afford to get my appendix ruptured up there so after having one of this pain episodes while climbing with a friend of mine... I decided that next time it happened, I will go to the hospital again.

This time I had a really bad night on Sunday, went to work on Monday (but came back earlier than usual) and after having a shower I walked to the hospital (like 10 minutes walking). It wasn't that bad but as soon as I hit the hospital and told them this very same story they put me on a bed, did some blood analysis AND an "ecography" (you know, like pregnant women have done to see the babies). Next day they did a TAC (when you take some radioactive stuff and then watch it go through your intestines) and cut it off in the afternoon.

Mikel,

Awesome score! I love them Barkies.... I am real sure that BRKT would fix any flaw that you might find (if you dare ship them..). I recently got a BRKT Golok prototype that was never given an edge by the factory, I sent it to them and asked them to sharpen it. I received several calls from factory and finally Mike Stewart called me (in the evening) and asked if I was sure I wanted it sharpened, apparently it isn't a prototype, it is the prototype... In any case they are stand-up company in my eyes...

I am sure they would take care of it if I shipped them but being in Spain doesn't make things easy. I just sharpened the Aurora myself anyway... and it is shaving sharp now. Tomorrow I will be taking one out to give it a try so I might be able to snap some action pictures. Iñaki is coming with me so he will probably carry a blade himself as well (one of the new ones I mean).
