[Contest] Any love for the Fehrman Thru Hiker?

I don't need another knife. I've had three Fehrman's; a Last Chance, a Peacekeeper, and a Thru-Hiker. I loved them all for the way that Fehrman executes his 3V from heat treat, to edge geometry, to profile, to looks. I disliked them for a couple of reasons. Primarily, weight. I got the TH at the same time that I got a BK-11 and the very noticable weight difference and the fact that for the same size package, The TH had a shorter blade and same size handle. It was very noticable around my neck at all times. I really wanted to like it because it cuts forever with very little maintenance. The Last chance was a beast. I loved it but never carried it due to weight. The PK again I loved it except for the weight and for the choil.

Part of me wants to put my entry into this giveaway but I'll pass on this one. It's like this girl I once dated who was so gorgeous but I could not spend any amout of time with without getting annoyed.:(

I'll do some pagan ritual tonight to sway the gods of randomness to pick Gene so he can handle it for you.

I can put some natural canvas micarta slabs on it, and send it back to you.

I thought about that as well. It's ready drilled out for easy re-handling :D. I've done a few handles myself. Some scales would seriously improve this one for me, although the handle is still a bit short. And then it would need a new sheath....

I would like to take this opportunity to encourage our custom makers to put real handles--working f'ing handles--on their knives. Scott Gossman put a killer handle on my short Tusker, but most handles tend to be a bit small for me.

For those of you posting with a +1 for Caine's Step-son, I'm considering that an extra chance for Caine to win it. Nice gesture guys.

Hmmm I guess I would have to say that I could use it just because I don't have any more fixed blades. I am off at school, and sadly didn't bring a fixed blade. Just think it would be nice to have and use when I go hiking, and use it when I go camping. Besides, I am usually ok with small handles, haven't had one thats bugged me too much yet.

I need this knife because I'm trying to get my beautiful fiancee to love being outdoors as much as I do...and I think a nice little fixed blade would be a good gift (read: bribe) to come outside a little more often!

Thanks for the contest!

I need that Fehrman for my lovely wife because the steel is very high class and she deserves the best !!!!
Also because a smaller knife would suit her much better than this beast she has in the pic !

Pitdog, you've got a great looking wife there. If you don't win it, you should get her one anyway. You should be doing what ever it takes to keep her dude!

EDIT: Stepping out of the running.
I hit reply before reading all the replies. Caine's Step-son gets my +1.

I need a Fehrman because of all the Busses I have. Being an honest man, I can never comment on the "Fehrman vs Busse" threads because I refuse to voice an opinion on a knife I have not used.:D

There is a lot of love of Fehrman with me! I would use it as a loaner while helping to maintain the Florida Trail system. I would not want to loan out my regulars, but this would provide a loaner blade to those who never seem to have a knife, maybe I could covert them......

As much as I'd like it (It wouls bring my fixed blade count up to 2!), I agree with everyone else. Give it to the soldier

i would love to give that to my cousin for his boy scout outings he would be so happy getting a knife from his cousin nick :)

ha didn't read the rest of the thread give it to the soldier
