I'm giving away two prizes in this contest. The first is a Leatherman Kick with pocket clip installed, and the second is a Victorinox Hiker.

What I want you to do is come up with two names (one male, one female) for my new pet snake. It's a Ball Python (Python regius). I'm not sure of the sex yet, as the breeder that I go to just informed me that he'd have a nice specimen that I'd like. I pick it up Friday morning. As a little background info, ball pythons grow to about 5 or 6 feet long and are very tame. They come from Africa mostly, and eat mice, hamsters, gerbils, and rats. Here's a photo of a ball python...

Here are the rules:

1. The contest will end at 10PM (Eastern time) on Thursday, January 8th.
2. Two winners will be announced Thursday, January 8th at 10:45PM.
3. You can post as many times as you want, but please keep the name suggestions to two (one male, one female) per post.
4. If I pick one of your names and you posted a photo of your snake, then you'll get a bonus.
5. I'll pick one male name and one female name, and the posters who submitted those names first will receive their prizes.
6. The first poster (by date and time) gets the Kick, and the second poster gets the Hiker.

I had a female Ball Python. Named her Anodyne.
 
Male: Jörmungandr (norse sea serpent also called the world serpent)
Female: Mixcoatl (aztec for cloud serpent and the god of war, hunting and sacrifice)
 
Ball python and nobody has said:

Balzak (male)

Wallet (female- catch the sarcasm in the name)

(I guess you could use Boots too- especially if you have young kids)
I don't have a snake but I have a Curly Haired Tarantula named Curly Sue
And my wife has a bearded dragon named Rex- I'll see if I can find the pics

If it's a male python offcourse it should be called Monty....duh.

Contest is still going, until 10PM tonight. I have a few names picked from the list, but keep them coming and we'll see who comes up with the best.
 
I would go with Precious (unisex)

Another favorite is mine would be Kaa (rhymes with cha), the snake from The Jungle Book.
