CONTEST!!!!! . . . Win A $1,000.00 Shop Credit And A Free Limited Edition Blade!!!

"Weight is over," the bit about the 1/8 mile drag being over before you know it (with the 1/8" being the LE), "look within," etc. all point to Anorexic.

The drink recipe -Ward 8; Better than corn, suggesting "Hog Bait"; the nursery rhyme, suggesting a terrible "fate", I could have had a... V-8; the drag racers with the V-8; Aboctosaurus; all point to something with "8" in it. And a couple of those seem to point to a B-8. Heck, even V-8 sounds like B-8.

And as someone observed, the basic line was an "expansion" of the original Busse line.

But the "V" also suggests a v-grind.

Sabre-ground Anorexic Basic-8 Limited Edition.

And if the "sa" following the "octo" in Aboctosaurus refers to the grind, that means it's an Anorexic B-8[octo] SAbre-ground Urus. And since the "Urus" is the only part that isn't accounted for in the name of the knife, I can only deduce that the prize includes a Lamborghini Urus.

I like this.

This is supposed to be "one of the most anticipated Limited Editions to come out of the Busse Combat Shop." Given the 3600 posts on the Basic-8 thread, Jerry's comment on that thread "Soon my friend. . . .soon. . . .", the misspelling Abrictosaurus as Aboctosaurus, and all the other clues pointing to something with an "8" in the name, I don't see how it could be anything other than some variety of Basic 8.

GRASSHOPPER post = anniversary skinny steel heart.
Nuclear hints from nursery rhyme leads me to believe of nuclear treatment.
8 inches from the octo quote.

I'm going to take a stab at Nuclear Anniversary Skinny Steel Heart.
NASSH = 8 inches from Octo quote along with options to be LE. Limited editions.

FOLDER! It lies within itself.

lol a war boar 8" folder- epic!

"look within my friends"
i found an old post by dumpster dan in the scrapyard forum that talked about building a war dog out of infi after a lot of Johnny Blue with Jerry... so that covers the easy to find if you drink enough, within my friends and also the ward8 from the drink thread

so does that make it an infi war dog basic 8?

but it says "to come out of busse combat"

so within ward 8
AR... Air Rescue 8?

or lies within ward 8.
limitted edition search and rescue 8?

Nuclear [from the rhyme] Meltdown Anniversary Straight Handle [ASH] Battle Mistress LE would be bomb diggity.

from the recipe:

16" total overall length - check
6/16 thick blade
6 inch handle
1.8" wide blade

30 year from the track story. Big finish from the big dash description of the classic cars. 1/4 inch from the quarter mile track. Steel heart from look within. Eight inch from all of the v8 references.

My guess is 30th anniversary B.I.G. Steel Heart Version 8" with .25" thick blade.
I

Maybe a Nuclear Meltdown Fat Anniversary Steel Heart LImited Edition ??
NMFASHLE

But I see some are thinking skinny version ??????

Never was good at word games lol

The answer lies "within"
What's "IT"

“16 Ounces Rye Whiskey
6 Ounces Lemon Juice
6 Ounces Orange Juice
8 Teaspoons of Granadine”

From this I get 28 oz 8 inch

"It became one of the best selling expansions . . . ."

From this I get a larger “expanded” version of something like a longer version or SECOND version of the Ash1

“look within”

From this I get Heart

“The answer lies within grasshopper. . . .”

From this I get Anniversary Satin Steel Heart.

“The weight is nearly over.....”

From this I get over weight.

The Final Nursery Rhyme. . . . .

From this tale of the nuclear apocalypse I get the nuclear treatment.

So all of this together is the NMASSH2 Nuclear Meltdown Anniversary Satin Steel Heart 2. It is a Nuclear treatment, 28oz, 8 inch blade, Satin Finish ASH2

The 8” from like 5 other references too.

.... Too much information!! My brain is gonna fry:eek:...

...man, Jerry can certainly be quiet for a long while..... But he can really stage a comeback!!!

the w-8? maybe like a wicked 8 or something? I got this from "the weight is nearly over and the ward 8 drink reference? maybe it's just called ward 8?

My new guess is SHSHIII. this comes from look within for the heart. The straight handle as one of the most popular expansions from the original series. Also, I got three from V8. The V is Roman numeral 5 and 8-5 = 3.

The answer lies within grasshopper. . . .

Jerry

The answer lies within = heart
grasshopper contains the letters
  • Hog
  • a for anorexic
    and
  • Ash = anniversary steel heart which was a big blade for Busse hence = expansion :D

Dan and I are muscle car aficionados. Love 1968 Chevelles. Best lines of any muscle car ever made in my opinion. We owned 2 of them when we were in our teens.

Both had 327 small block V-8s with 400 turbo trans and 12 bolt rear ends. One had a 370 rear gear and the other ran a 456 gear that redlined in seconds!

We went to the Milan, Michigan drag strip this past summer to watch the 1/4 mile runs.

Lots of horsepower ripping up the track. We had not been there in the past 30 years. They now have 1/8 mile dashes which I thought were awesome!

Although he loves the 1/4 mile runs, my brother said fast sprints, coincidentally, like the big 1/8 mile dashes are not his favorite.

When asked about their overwhelming popularity, he did agree that nearly every time, big dashes bolster attendance and help to keep the sport alive.

It does seem like the 1/8 mile runs are practically over before they start.

Any other muscle car nuts out there?

Let's drink!!!

:D

V8 = 8 years later. ASH came out in 2007 - 2015 = 8 years ago

I'm going with Big ASH

HOG ASH .327

ASH 1/4

Anorexic ASH 1/8

All in big finish ash :) mmmmmmmmm

After reading the race track thread, 1/8th of a mile = a .125 thickness and 1/4 of a mile = a .25 thickness, same as the orig steel hearts I believe. Hope this helps someone because I'm drawing a blank. There was also a nuclear meltdown blade offered in a Cupid Ganza from 2009 per my google search fu.
