Here we go, in celebration of my upcoming 4000th post, and the introduction of my "Traditional Knives Line." Post your favorite photo of your favorite traditional style knife or gear (hatchets, camping gear, hunting shack) or whatever you have! The contest will run untill July 20th. Here is the prize, my first Roach Belly. This one is a hair over 9" long, with a 4 1/2" blade of 1/8" O1. Handle is torched maple with brass pins. I left the forge marks on. Here it is, along with my other models in the "Traditional Line".

Looks fantastic. I'm going to sit this one out. I'd love to win it but I have won several things this year and until I can give back I need to watch and enjoy.
Good luck to all.
John, thanks for all you do to make such excellent tools!

That is very generous of ya John. Thank you for the chance and congrats on 4K!

I don't have much in the way of traditional stuff besides slipjoints. What I do have pics of are:

My Dancing Man Ulu.

And a few of my favorite classics. Imperials! Working class knives with little or no collector value, but I like 'em.

Thanks again,

Hello Stomper. Thanks for generosity. Since buying some of your SAK's back in May, I have noticed your fantastic work. I don't own any traditional knives and dont know if this qualifies, but here goes:

Congrats on your upcoming milestone! I just received a new knife that I am going to have to say is my new favorite. It is my DPx H.E.S.T. by RAT Cutlery. The knife just feels so good in my hand and it offers many functions for a great small Survival Knife.

Thanks for the chance...

Hi Stomper, congrats on the upcomming post. Love the pics of your knives. Here is my Queen Stag hunting knife. I have had it for years don't even know which model it is. Got it from my father. It is a litle used but still works.

I love Imperials! I have the same white handle stockman in the bottom of your pic, and a big 2 blade folding hunter with black handles. I had the white handle drop point on the top years ago.

Sure does, I `m a fan of Labs, had a black for almost 16 years.

Ohh my God John that Roach Belly is sweet...:D Congrats on the 4K

It would be worth the Felony Charge to have that on my hip.:D

Well....maybe not the felony conviction...:mad::mad

And someone who doesn't own one of your knives should really win. Soooooo....

if you pick my entry send the knife to Rupestris.

This is, by far, my most favorite traditional knife. While it is designed to be a kitchen knife I use it just about everywhere. This knife was given to me by my father, it was part of a collection given to me from my grandfathers butcher shop.

I cherish these knives more than any other I have. I know some of you have seen these pics before, but these are great knives, to me.

Yes, it needs a new handle ;)

Here they are with the rest of the collection.

I don't think its possible to think about a "traditional" knife without the Buck 110 coming to mind! Also have the JK Keychain companion, an old Case knife, and two very old pocket knives originally from either my father or grandfather. The BSA one is made by Imperial and the bottom one is Case. I've been needing to give the three bottom knives some TLC.

This is what I got for traditional. I also have an Old Timer/Boy scout knife but no pics. I've been eating more fruit lately, so the Ewok has a nice patina going.

Here's our new favorite "traditional" hang out, the swimming holes below the only 3 level covered-bridge in all the U.S. It was built in 1894, and the creek below has something like 2nd largest population of salmon in California. But their protected, so their not shy to humans.

Am I a brown-noser? I do NOT want to win! I love your knives and will order more, please give someone else a knife who may not have one. I just like to share pics!
