My latest display with my most recent knives (including the tiny knife I inherited when my mom passed away). It will be filled sooner or later, but in no hurry to do so. A gun show will be in town sometime this month... I'm sure one more will make it's way in there then ;-)

That tiny thing is a no name brand Japanese made knife. Bought it probably 25 years ago, simply for it's dimunitive size. Well, and because it is pretty nicely made. Right after buying it, I showed my mother the knife, her finding it adorable... so I gave it to her. She kept it as a purse knife for a while. At some point, she put it away, and when she recently passed, my daughter found it amongst her belongings... and back to me it went. Being that it was so cherished by mom, it having come from her son, it now will be cherished by me. It surely has a lot of sentimental value :-)

The others are a Schrade, Case, Forge De Laguiole, and a Remington/Camillus :-)

That's really nice. Is it some type of shadow box or have you re-purposed something to make it. It almost looks like a picture frame of some sort.

Ha! I read the title of your thread quickly and missed the "with." Upon opening it I half expected to see a bedazzled stockman. So glad I didn't!

I do like the display. What is the background?

What's the background???? Hmm.... never really paid attention when buying it, it just looked cool, I guess :-) Anyhow, I really don't know... could be a bunch of curse words! Hahaha ;-)

I like it. It's nice to have your knives where you can see and appreciate them. Not to mention, show them off!

There was a time I did this with my guns... but now they are kept locked away in a cabinet in my closet... things have simply changed in this world. Oh well, the pocket knives all folded up, are more benign, for sure ;-)

I was grateful for another forum member posting a thread about pocket watches and traditional knives... It inspired me to place the pocket watch my kids gifted me some years ago, inside this display. It now alongside my late mother's little knife... awesome feeling to see these two sentimental items displayed together :-)

I have lots of ideas for some displays - slowly looking for some shadow boxes etc. for a winter project. Besides guns and knives, pocket watches and old coins seem to all go together as seen in another post here recently. I'm going for a western theme in my mind for a couple with some nice old fixed blade knives I've recently acquired.

Sounds cool!!! Maybe an old sheriffs badge (or reproduction), would add to your ideas :-)

There are so many little things like that - only to find them. The thrill of the hunt is a neat part of the process - only problem is my only way to find this stuff is on the big auction site.

Pretty nice setup there, it'd be neat to do something like that with a coffee table inset so the middle of the table was tuff glass WITH a rubber seal around the edges to prevent any spills from seeping down at the joints of the glass and wood, but that would make a nice way to display as well, albeit more work I'd imagine!
