Continuing to find ways to decorate with my traditionals...

Yeah, that would be a nifty looking coffee/cocktail table :-) My coffee/cocktail table gets the knife treatment now, just not as elaborate as your idea :-)

I have been decorating my living room with these traditional pocket knives that I've started collecting... and just finished filling my third display. One would think that they would maybe overwhelm the overall look, but no... they blend in well. The displays are not all in one corner of the space, instead one here, one there, and over there... breaking it up so it adds interest in all areas of the room, without being so concentrated that it steals all ones attention. It's been fun, but another display will come into place at a much slower pace, lol! :-)

Do you make the displays yourself? Could you write a little about how and show pictures during the work?

This is the first display I purchased to house traditional pocket knives. In this one I did have to install the mini shelves, since it is hung on the wall.

And this was the knife displaying that begun the others... a few traditional type fix bladed knives... which I think compliment the pocket knife collection :-)

Here are a few pics on how this all fits into my bachelor pad (well, not a true bachelor... a divorced man, more like it). Surrounding myself with a look that I feel fits my personality :-)

The displays laying flat are easy to work with, just lay the knives flat into the displays. But, the one on the wall, that needed me to be more creative. i had to purchase oak trim which I cut down to make mini shelving for the knives to be placed on.

My knives are displayed in a way that allows them to be seen and admired, but to not so dominate the space that it becomes nothing but a knife room :-)

My not being the politically correct type, I have had some fun joking about this set up. People may ask... "Why do you have those knives on your cocktail/coffee table?".... my response is... "Well, when a woman comes over, I first have the wine as plan A. Then, if that does not work... the knives are plan B."... lol! Most people laugh... but of course, some have no sense of humor! lol! :-)

Nice "pad" Jimmy. And nice displays too! I wonder how knives figure in feng shui? Might want to be sure you're not blocking your chi flow, might help with the ladies. Just kidding about the ladies.........maybe.
