I really want to like the BK2 but something about it just doesn't scream out to me. I think its the handle maybe? CONVINCE ME PEOPLE!

If you don't get one, people will make fun of you.

J/K

I was a little hesitant, weighing between the BK2 and the BK7. 7 Looked cooler to me. Looked bigger. Looked meaner. I was wrong. 7 is a great knife. BK2 is a mean as hell no holds barred I will sleep with your sister and not call her back after I steal $20 of your dresser and kick your dog kinda knife. It is my favorite knife I have ever held. It says "Hey guy, if you run across a squirrel, a rabbit, a deer, a moose, a bear, or a buick, I will cut it open for you just fine."

Tuffthumbz (I am pretty sure it was him) locked his keys in his car in a bad neighborhood. Pried his car door open with it enough to get it unlocked, saving himself and his girlfriend some difficulty. I am sure he scored because of that too. So it even gets you laid. And really, isn't that what you want out of a knife? I mean aside from splitting darn near anything you come across, cutting whatever you want, being usable as a tip first chisel (thanks for the pics of that Mistwalker) and anything else you could ever want from a knife.

But yeah, it doesn't scream anything. It talks quietly. It doesn't need to shout. If a BK2 was in a forest and no one was around, it would make a sound. A lot of sounds. A lot of trees fallin, animals yelping, ground pounding earth shaking sounds.

Stop reading this and go get one. You will be glad. And if you are not, well, there is something wrong with you.

Oh, if you already have one, and don't like the handles, try the micarta. Or try modding your handles. Dimples, stippling, grooves, etc... are a great way to change up the grip.

Lol Derek you should be a motivational speaker.

Any tips on modding the handle?

Also any problems with it being an EDC? since NY knife laws are going through a political sewage treatment plant.

I think it be a wee bit big for EDC, but then I have a desk-ish kind of job. If you are modding the grivory scales, remember that they are not that thick, so don't drill through it.

To me it's a woods knife. I feel it's too big to EDC. Not saying it can't or that others don't. An 11 or 14 to me is best suited for EDC.

Ok, not my best subject of convincing people to do things, but, I'll give it a shot.

$65 delivered to your house. It will live long past your grandkids. Been around for nearly 30yrs and only underwent one design change, and that was to add to the exposed steel, and take away weight to balance the knife in the first finger recess. Did I mention $65 delivered to your house?

First rate, bushcraft, survival, camping, hiking, general woodsbumming knife that has ever been invented. Can do any chore that needs to be done from building a shelter, to building a tax shelter. Ok, that last one was BS, I let my BK2 do my taxes last year, and I about went to jail. BK2's don't do taxes worth a damn.

Oh, its $65 delivered to your doorstep.

Moose

PS, let us know if you buy one

Thanks moose my penny pinching asian soul is tickled by your high value knife pitching skills!

Guess it is a little big for EDC many other options for that perhaps it could be a car knife. Leave it in there for when the shit hits the fan and out it comes to save the day?

Good job convincing me guys i'm seriously considering it now.

Chestnut Ridge Knife shop has one with black micarta handles, their flat, not countoured like the others.
I don't know of another knife that has 3 different handles to buy and bolt.
Maybe not an EDC knife, but a great one for the outdoors.

Take my word....and you don't have to because I'm a noob..

I picked up a BK2 at the shotshow and fell in love. I ordered one as soon as I got home!

This was after I saw an ESEE 5 and thought I would never buy another knife again.

Fixed that for ya Moose ;)

I can't really add any more to what Derek and moose said. It's an awesome knife that kind of grows on ya.Did anyone mention that it is one tough S.O.B.at a killer price?:D:thumbup:

Let's see...it's a Beast, nearly indestructible, great design, great steel, backed by a good warranty and wicked looking when naked(coincidentally so am I:D). Also, one small but important fact that others forgot to mention, it's only $65 shipped to your door...:D

The best reason to buy a BK 2 is that it is so extremely hard to find a place where you can rent one.

Bought one. Liked it so much bought another just because I was afraid of losing it. Now I'm considering buying a third because I don't want to lose my backup. Back up for a back up. Did I mention I keep it under my pillow? Its a quarter inch thick. Other knives look flimsy and brittle by comparison. :) In BK2 I trust.

pssst... buy the ESEE 5....

J/K, contrary to popular belief I chose the BK2 mostly because I liked the way it felt compared to the 5, but yeah the price was also a contributing factor.. :D

Either way you'll love it, like you said .. even if it just sits in the glove box.. its there when you need a " Tire Iron "..:p

Replace the handles and realize there is no way in hell that you can kill that knife, it will serve you well into the next century and never let you down.

Buy one and you are the coolest kid on the block.
Don't and there are other models to choose from.
