convince me not to buy a rat-3

I am sure its a good knife, but it might be better to get it from Rat Cutlery as I have read that the quality is somewhat superior from them.

Or wait till Ethan Becker brings Becker knives back on line and purchase one of his awesome knives :)

that's the second time i've heard this here. When is he likely to do this?

EDIT: oh yeah, instead of the rat 3 you could also go for an fallkniven f1 for a little more money, but i haven't owned either so don't take my word for it. here it is for 104 bucks, shipped.

Morrrrrrrrrw knnnnnnnniiiiiiiiiivvvvvvvvvvvvvves

I have one coming too and I need another knife, like well, you know...

The one who dies with the most toys wins!

More to the ummm POINT, I like the size and ergonomics. It's big and tough enough, but still small and light-- what you want in a trial knife. I had a Becker Necker and wished it had the handle size of the RAT-3. I think of them as a mora with some more cahones.

I am giving my Old Timers a rest and using my new RAT3 and loving it, I got one in 1095. I really think they got it right with this one not to thick and not to thin with a good size blade for everyday work.

I don't like the choil and although the sheath is very nice and very well made I don't like the way it carries, the grip is small but I have small hands so it fits me pretty good.

Sorry I am not going to try to talk you out of it is a whole lot of knife for 70 dollars IMO. Chris

I'm getting my rat-3 soon, can't decide between 1095 or d2, but can't go wrong with either one. I can't think of any reasons why not to get one. I don't think you'll find a better knife in the same price range (or even higher price range) that offers the same quality. Plus, Mike and Jeff have the best customer service in the business, they will take care of you and stand behind their knives 110%. That's why I'm buying one. =]

well you guys did a horrible job of trying to convince me not to buy it...
guess ill just have to snap one up...
thanks for nothing(i mean that in a good way)

OK, don't buy one, especially in 1095. It is too useful and tough of a knife for the price. You'll be ripping off whoever you purchase it from, then how could you live with yourself:D.

Take my word for it I got one for $59 from Brigade QM and I still feel guilty.

Well, did that work for you?

You guys suck at talking people out of things. You convinced me to get one also. Now I'm waiting for the new Becker's.
