Convince me on Wire Clips

I thought you had a Sage already?

Based on my experience; definitely the Techno.
Based on my desire; get a Slysz Bowie, so that way If you don't like the wire clip you can pass it on to me so I can see the Bowie in person, haha. ;)

Edit: If this is for "science", like your last post mentioned, then you have to get them all to have a proper cross section for test subjects.
Of course wire clip will be great on Techno... but how will you really be able to judge without assumption whether or not it works for the larger knife, too?
Is your wife reading? :p
She blinded me with SCIENCE!

Alright, y'all, which knife should I pick up to "test" the wire clip? Techno or Slysz Bowie? I don't think both is an option at this point...

get your feet wet with the Techno, have one in my pocket right now
I'ts a beast of a little knife, the little big knife!

Did. Don't anymore cause it was to big for what I wanted. Should have gone with my gut and picked up a Chappie.

I was leaning toward the Techno myself. The Bowie, though, it calls to me.

FOR SCIENCE!

^^^What he said! Little knife with BIG confidence.
Plus it's in a very non threatening friendly package. Heck, I carried mine to church today. :D

I also dislike--actually, I really hate--wire clips. In some cases, like The Deacon, I just remove them. In other cases, I just live with them. I love the Dragonfly but remove the clips immediately and never use them again. The knife works well carried deep in the pocket, clipless. Others, like the Sage 1 and Manix 2 LW, I put up with the clips because the knives are so appealing. But I generally dislike the wire clip so much I no longer buy knives that have them.

If the Sage felt too big, get the Techno. Nearly equivalent edge length, much smaller footprint.

Where is this deep hatred for a clip rooted in?
You never gave any sort of reason or rationale for the emotion...

The Bowie is a better knife for almost any cutting task, but the Techno is cooler ;)

Both are great so no wrong choice here really.. I have 2 Technos and a Bowie:o

Love the wire clips.

The low-ride ones are very discreet, and for a casual observer it might look like you have a pen clipped to the pocket.

I mangled the one of my Dragonfly once, but could easily remove it and bend it back into shape. I would say they are plenty tough enough for daily use. They are also easy on the pocket, and comfortable in hand.

Okay. Fair enough.

1) The wire clips have side-to-side flex.
2) The wire clips look and feel cheap (especially on the $100+ models).
3) If the wire clip is designed for deep pocket carry, it's sometimes difficult to get the knife out of the pocket by pushing up on the clip (see #1).
4) The attachment limits carry positions.
5) Reason, rationale and emotion have little in common.

I dislike clips, in general, and remove them from the knives I carry. However, I dislike wire clips even more than the three screw kind. Main reason is that I find the trenches used to mount a wire clip look even uglier than the holes to mount a three screw clip. Unlike screw holes, where one at least has the option of filling them with headless screws, those trenches defy redemption.

My sentiments exactly

Now that you have developed the wire clip immunity to the spyder bite, you should look at the Sage series.
I think they are pretty awesome
Feed the Spyder fever, it's the only cure!

I think you just got bit and infected by a Spyder and just need an excuse to buy more
Lol

Yeah... Got bit by that bug back in December. :D The Techno and Bowie will be the thirteenth and fourteenth additions. So definitely feeding the fever!

I had a Sage 1 and didn't like it. Too similar to my Native for me to justify keeping both.

I'm at 14 Spydies in the same time frame, we're neck and neck. Ordering a FRN Stretch and another DF tomorrow.

You are SO going to love the Slysz Bowie....my other Taichungs pale in comparison!
