Convince me to buy a Spyderco

I pulled the trigger on the Lionspy. Still looking at the Rubicon and Slysz bowie. Thanks for all the comments.

If you want another you should grab a Sal/Eric design for the authentic Spydie experience. ;)
The Military has been mentioned. With your specs it seems like one of the titanium models would be right up your alley.

This but sub "Paramilitary 2" for "Delica".
Both are awesome knives but the PM2 is simply off the charts when it comes to bang for the buck.
Regardless of what model you buy don't be surprised if it doesn't "speak to you" when you first handle it. I felt this way with some of my now favorite Spydercos. These knives really need to be put to work to be appreciated.

I felt the same way. I got a military and it sat on my shelf until I decided to say screw it and carry it to work a couple of times. Now it's with me constantly and is easily my favorite knife out of all I've had. Before then I'd pick it up and say "eh, no big deal." Once I put it to work though, it's hard to beat. I like it considerably better than the xm18 and zt 0561 in terms of utility and comfort. I've been fairly rough with it and it's had absolutely no problems. Cutting plastic strapping, etc is no problem at all.

I will add the military to my list with the Slysz bowie and rubicon.

You can get it in a Ti Framelock. It's a super-solid knife. Just got mine today. :D

Good choice. It is Spydercos best folder imho, but it isn't an overbuilt prying tool ;)

The best are the carbon fiber versions, but they can be hard to find and are expensive. They are lighter and stiffer than the G10 versions and a lot lighter than the ti framelock version:

The Military is worthy of being considered. Not overbuilt, but not exactly weak.

My favorite knife, not just my favorite Spyderco.

Helping me split stone today..and every day :D
