Damn. I saw a board there that you could just sand and have a dining room table. Hell, if you sat it on frickin saw horses you'd have the nicest table most folks would ever see.

Edited to add. When you guys come down for blade show, you've gotta hit the Atlanta hardwood dealers. There are some amazing spots here.

If you made a kitchen or dinning room table out of one of them big slabs it would sell for around 20 g and only take 2 months to make lol How hard is bubbinga ??? I never tryed it yet.

Its hard as hell.

I got to meet the owner last spring at a woodworking expo here. He had an entire semi trailer full of exotic wood and some very good prices. He had a box of end cuts for 50 cents a pound and almost every piece was big enough for a knife handle.

I went bananas and dropped about $150 and it took me and my wife three trips to get it all hauled out to the truck.

The background wood in this pic is a 12"x12"x2.5" chunk of maple burl that had a check running across 3/4 of it. He sold it to me for $16.

I'm working with a piece of rosewood that has colors just like that right now on a knife that will hopefully be done for the NCCA show this weekend. I just hope the colors dont darken up too much with age, because it's beautiful right when it's fresh sanded and polished, but the block of wood itself looked almost like blackwood before i cut it in half for scales.

Good folks to deal with. I've bought several pieces from them on 'the auction' site. Always pleased with their goods!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Wow ! The piece held up by the woman would make a perfect table for the board room of AIG .They'd get something good for the bailout money !

Isn't this beautiful???
Rosewood:eek::cool::D

That's what I'm talking about. If that stuff is D. Nigra, I imagine the price is incredibly high. It would be a shame to cut it into knife handles instead of guitars, but I still want to.

Anyone want to go in on it? I'm betting about $100/bf.

My parents live like 10 minutes from their warehouse. Last time I went to visit, I bought about $125 worth of stuff and sent it back in large flat rate boxes. Love their service!!!!
