I'm new in the knife world and just purchased a Reate torrent, and i LOVE the blade shape and everything about it. What other knives in this price range should I be looking at? I have owned a couple Hinderers and for some reason They just don't do it for me. I'm looking for something around 3.5" and with something other than a stone wash or bead blast blade. I'm thinking about a reate Horizon D, but I'm not sure if I like the blade or not.

I really dig the look of the Wilson Tactical Rapid Response flipper (made by fox) with cocobolo.

As well as the extreme light.

But the only option other then stonewashed is black dlc

$7.50 New on clearance.

Cool is a matter of perspective. I think almost any knife with carbon fiber scales look cool but that could not appeal to someone else.

You don't need to spend a lot for a cool looking knife. IMO the most beautiful folding production knives ever made are the Spyderco Calypso sprint, the blue CRKT Ripple and Cold Steel medium Espada. All of these are under $200 and well made with great F&F and materials.

The Cold Steel Caledonian Edge was a bad ass looking knife. I should've kept the one that I had.

The coolest looking blade in my collection under $400 is the CKF Sukhoi 2.0.
Extremely cool looking and smooth as butter.

These ones.

Pretty sure it's a Darrel Ralph design.

Coolest looking? Off the top of my head, for $400-ish I would check out the following brands

Brous Blades
Custom Knife Factory
Zero Tolerance
Lionsteel
Hogue
Microtech
Reate
Mcusta
