• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Corian as handle material

Works well. Looks good. Don't drop a knife with a white handle. Don't ask me how I know. Seriously, it hit something pointy and left a "Star" where it hit. No amount of grinding or polishing would remove it. Very deep. Don't know how other colors would respond. Don't use it anymore.

Here is a piece I made recently. The corian was slabbed with 1084 Tool Steel. and held together with three brass pins. Then the whole sucker was glass bead blasted and that sucker has a great grip. I would definately recommend this stuff, Any sharp edges will make it chip more. Also, I have noticed that a dent can be put in the finish much easier if it is smooth than with the glass bead blasted finish..... works well with a clay hamon Quench.

Just my two sense....... and if you have some and don't want to use it...

It makes a great sandpaper holder for hand polishing.... it is actually flat

Here is a pic of one...

This is the first I done. I noticed that when peining the pins you will get a crack, but before it popped off.... I epoxied that sucker and has not popped off yet...... I would not recommend peening the pins, but would recommend roughing up the center of the pins to hold the epoxy more where is would go throug a larger hole in the tang to grip better.....

Just my two sense!!!!

Ok, then. Sounds like it is no-go. I can not guarantee that I will not drop it. It is actually other way around and I know it will be dropped...

Thank you Gents for the input!!
