...If I want a nice gun I'll go with something like a 1911 that I can build out and improve over time.
"Nice" gun? What do you mean by "nice" in this context? Particularly one that needs to be "improved?"
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).

smh...From what I've found, the Field Knife has been made of "phosphated spring steel" since it was adopted in 1978. If it requires decades of government purchasing and use of questionable materials to hit $30, I don't think there's any chance in hell they can make a "top-performing" larger knife for $60.
Is that private sales or all sales? A lot of people who've used a Glock did so for their job (LE or military), and aren't actually interested in purchasing anything from them.
- Because it would be cheap for a high-quality large Bowie. That niche really isn't filled in the market.
Cold Steel, Kabar, and Ontario all make knives that fit this market...
You hit it on the nail head. The late Chuck Karwan ( while he was actually employed by Glock) and myself tried to interest Gaston in an "improved Glock combat knife" of our own design. He had no interest in tooling up for another knife.Glock's field knife is more of a bayonet than a dedicated survival knife. Outside of fulfilling military contracts, not so sure they have much interest in knives.
I totally want a Glock spoon.Glock pistols are like solid state radios or Briggs & Stratton mowers. You're not getting a Ferrari but you are getting something that requires almost no service and will remain reliable. That's what Glock buyers want.
Just because Glock can and does make such reliable pistols is it a good idea to make a price point Bowie? If that's such a good idea then how about a Glock smartphone or a Glock pickup truck, Glock commemorate spoons, Glock running shoes? They all kinda seem like bad ideas.
I totally want a Glock spoon.
Uh, no. There will be an R. Lee Ermey signature edition, though, that has to count for something.
This guy is about Glock like that Smiling/Smiling Larry guy is about Cold Steel.
That's a Spork, totally different animal.Ka-Bar already makes that too!

It's alright if you aren't into guns and don't know much about them. There are a lot of articles and forums out there on this subject, take a little time and do some research and you'll know what I mean."Nice" gun? What do you mean by "nice" in this context? Oh, I'm into firearms. Far more so than knives. I have a few M1911s and a few Glocks. I was just curious about the odd comment "...If I want a nice gun I'll go with something like a 1911 that I can build out and improve over time."It's alright if you aren't into guns and don't know much about them. Man, that is sweet!

What do you mean by "nice" in this context? Glocks are "nice" guns. Did you mean to say something like "traditional", "non-polymer", "more aesthetically pleasing to me", "not afraid to trade function for form", or something like that?
You also feel you can improve JWB's design? Really? Or do you mean that you can swap out a bunch of parts for more foofy ones?
