Could Glock make/sell a top performing large Bowie for $59.99?

You also feel you can improve JWB's design? Really? Or do you mean that you can swap out a bunch of parts for more foofy ones?

Adding on parts to a 1911 is not attempting to improve Browning's design. Check your passive aggressive swipes at the door, please. Some people like a full length guide rod or match grade barrel or the fun and challenge of upgrading a stock 1911 to something more custom of fits their needs better (race gun/reliable jhp feed/etc). You are a member of a gun board, and you know this. Your shtick is wearing thin.

That's very true, but you'd be amazed at how many equate a new set of foofy grips to "improving" a firearm.

Man, that is sweet! ;) Add a lanyard made of braided gold paracord with a big cubic zirconium pendant, use a soldering iron to custom "stipple" the grip, and add a couple of decals and you would be home! Does it come with a scabbard, or could one be fabricated from imitation leopard skin?

I dunno if I would add any of that stuff.

Well...maybe the pendent. It would complement my Bedazzled boots and pants.

Imitation leopard’s would be 100 percent against using their skins.

To be honest and frank, I am less surprised that you twisted what was said into something that made you sound more superior. He posted that he liked to tinker with the 1911 and you jumped in with the foofy business about grips. For someone demanding facts and figures and sticking to your narrow definition of what is allowed in your threads, you give yourself wide berth to play fast and loose.

I don't see that. I don't think any of those mentioned are anywhere close to what I described as a Glock Bowie.

Why don't you sketch out and specify exactly what is in your mind so we can intelligently discuss this? Maybe we can get some factory to quote on the production cost.

I would love to have a R. Lee Ermey signature edition Glock knife!

Lee Ermey gave me a couple of his challenge coins, one of which is a Glock. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent with him. He bummed a couple cigarettes from me. :) I'm the short, bearded wierdo ...

Cool! It would've been pretty cool to meet the Gunny! Lucky you!

I don't recall saying anything about improving anything, I believe you said that. When I say making it nicer I'm referring to a well fit barrel bushing, really crisp trigger, sharp edges rounded, and all the other mods that make them a joy in the hand and tightens up the accuracy a bit.

I'm definitely a fan of fixed up Glocks, too. I have a friend that has a really sweet shooting G35.

Anyway we really got off subject bad, this is a knife forum. SanLuis, you seem to have a chip on your shoulder and its not making things better. No hard feelings, its hard to tell someone's tone online. I don't want to continue this spiral so with this I will step out.

He was great! Funny as hell. And just the same in person as you saw him on TV. A few of us ducked outside the bar where everyone met after the press conference on Capitol Hill. Lee was bitching to two young Marine vets about the new tattoo policies. Priceless.

I have no idea what was going on there and while I mean no disrespect to RLE, I don't care about that in terms of celebrity. I do care about that fella on the left and you being there with him.

Whatever that was, good on you.

You know most people if they had 1911s and Glocks wouldn't be asking that question.

Most people.

I have a pristine Remington Rand 1911A1. I like my two Hi-Powers (small hands.) I still want a bunch of stuff that Browning designed.

In ‘98 I drove two hours and paid good money to fire a BAR at a range. So much happiness in a 20lb package, I smiled all the way home.

back on topic, NO. Glock needs to focus on the pistol thing, unless they’re bringing something that is absolutely innovative to the table, why try to compete with already established manufacturers? I see a Glock Bowie being very similar to what OKC has been making for years, and I can’t imagine Glock pushing them out of the way.

Do have a soft spot for the Inglis Hi Powers. They were a washing machine company if you didn't know.

That big guy was incredible. And I've met a number of incredible young men who were severely disabled in Iraq. And many parents like me whose kid came home in a box. Big family affair, unfortunately.

Ka-Bar already makes that too! :D

No no no, Bruddah... that's the Spork.

Ka-Bar makes a spoon called the Krunch. It has a straw you can use to slurp up the leftover milk from your cereal.

I'm not sure if it is more couth to slurp up the milk with your spoon/straw, or just drink from the bowl, but what the hell.

Ka-Bar is now part of this nutritious breakfast... Happy Day!

Cool! I've haven't heard anything about that. But I don't have any tattoos. What was his gripe about the tattoos?
