On some of these rounds I used my 4 lb. Hults side by side with my Council 5 & 1/2 lb. and the comparison had a wide margin in favor of
the Council. For me it wasn't that much more to swing the heavier ax into the logs and the work efficiency really came into the equation.
Giving me at least 50-60% less swings with the Council over the lighter ax. I've run this comparison several times, different days, different
trees on the same oak variety with the same results. I get more wood split quicker with the Council. I don't think the heft alone does it. Axe design plays into it. After 3 days of blowing & snowy days this was a enjoyable workout. I think even our dogs were in a better mood. My take is, being out cutting wood does good things for mind and body. DM
