Council Tool Co. Celebrates 130 Years with Commemorative Saddle Axe

Hey Guys,

These saddle axes have a wooden wedge with a steel barrel locking wedge...with the handle extending proud of the head, and the eye also has interior ridges... the Plastic wedges on the FSS Pulaski is a Gov. standard for that tool, and it is something that Council had to use to be in compliance for that contract. The aluminum wedges are found on the less expensive stock versions of the axes...

Peace, Rooster :)

Just got an email back from James K. Elkins-VP-Market/Partnership Development regarding shipping costs on the Saddle Axe. Looks like although it is a "premium axe" they are not offering the December free shipping on this one only the other "premium axes."

Just received the same email

$25.00 may be a deal breaker for me. Are you popping for one?

LOL.......I've purchased several Council products over the years with no discount for shipping. They were purchased to fill a need. This is more of a want........and the thought of free shipping peaked my interest.
With that off the table.....the thought of an axe I would probably never use........I don't need a wall-hanger:rolleyes:

Thanks...still very interesting. I'll try it again. (Just tried it and paypal added the $25.00 shipping).

Dan,
I received the following email this afternoon from James K. Elkins, VP-Market/Partnership Development The Council Tool Co.

George, I talked with the executive team about the confusion with the Commemorative shipping issue and we have decided to offer free shipping on all 130th Commemorative Saddle Axes inside the contiguous US. If you are still interested in getting one with free shipping, please do while they last. If you go to the webpage and order it is now showing no shipping charges. Spread the word. We only made 130 and more than half sold the 1st few days of last week. So get one while we have them. Thanks, James

I placed my order this afternoon :D It looks like they have sold half of the 130 pieces. Hopefully free shipping will sell out the remainder

Thanks George, I receive an email and my order is placed also! For anyone following this thread...kudos to James Elkins from Council Tool. He didn't have to follow up on this, but he did and then took the time to contact us regarding the free shipping. Great customer service and a great representative of Council Tool!
Dan

Like a rhinestone cowboy, I got no use for a too-pretty-to-use axe. Too bad, it's an interesting design. Pop would have had no problem using any tool, collectible or not. I can't say as I need one, besides, I do have an un-shod cruiser head waiting for a haft, collecting dust...

I guess I better clear a spot for another dust collector. :D :o They seem to be selling.

Received today :thumbup:Very Pleased and as a bonus it just happened to be 63 of 130. I've saved my wife some effort for my birthday on the 29th........when I'll turn "63". I love it when I buy my own birthday gifts :p

Ain't that the truth! None of this business of having to pretend you like it nor having to disguise recoiling at the cost.

Tip of the day: The buckle on the back of the masks has three holes... the last one is there so that when you unbuckle to take the masks off, you can temporarily adjust to the longest hole, so that you can remove the masks without having to separate them completely.... this way they can stay together... :)

Peace, Rooster

Got mine yesterday and I too, am very pleased. Mine was delayed in the Christmas shipping rush. I was told that Collins is coming out with a "user" version as well as other special axes...I'm anxious to see what they produce.
