We'll see if I get burned or if the help/advice I get from you folks tilts the outcome in my favor.

I was checkin' emails when I noticed an email from PayPal confirmin' a payment for $314.XX, now I know how much I have in PayPal and it wasn't $314.XX, more like $109.XX, so that means my bank account paid the difference.

On top of that my account access has been limited, so I'm not sure what to do in these first hours of robbery.

I've already changed my password, changed CC#s, it won't let me drop off my bank acc. though, help me please, what should I do next?

I would view the details of the transaction, find out who got the money. Then they do have phone #'s on the site, hard to find. But get a person on the phone, you may be able to stop the transaction from being completed.
Good Luck,
James

Call your bank first then PayPal. Good luck. I hope it works out better than mine. My history with paypal and fraud is that they don't care. They allowed a crook to continue to get away with almost 1 million. He is now doing time. PayPal and ebay were totally useless until the FBI got involved.

Gus I'm on hold withh PP and my bank has to wait till Monday but I did transfer the money into my savings account.:grumpy:

Did you log into your PayPal account directly in a seperate browser window to ensure that the e-mail wasn't a spoof? I have gotten spoof e-mails of that sort before, where they want you to open your account through a link in the e-mail so they can steal your password and ID.

The first thing to do is,go to Paypal and make sure that there was a transaction,I get a lot of emails about payments and limited access to my account and such, that aren't from Paypal.I have 2 email accounts 1 that accepts paypal payments another that I get email from paypal at,if your using 1 account you could be getting phishing emails that mean nothing,if you access what looks like Paypal from a link in that email, that's where your trouble begins.

I only access my PP through their website, never through a link,

Just got off the phone with PP they confirmed thed transaction and transfer but the details are vague.

Now I gotta wait 10 days.:rolleyes::thumbdn:

I've never had anything like that happen through a Paypal transaction,I can't imagine how someone got your information to use it.I did have someone a few years back that was using my bank check card,I'm assuming that it was while I was on vacation,I blamed it on people that were working one of the hotels that we stayed at.The bank caught that right away and froze my account until they were able to talk to me,they sent me a new card,I just had to watch my account and report transactions that weren't mine and the bank didn't hold me responsible for any of them,I'm assuming Paypal should have something similar but like I say,I've never had cause to find out.Sorry for your troubles and I hope it all works out.

Iv had 3 phishing e-mails claiming limited PP account access this week.

Iv never had any before now. Perhaps a rash of PP fraud is on the go just now ?

When I get any email claiming PP limited access or security alert, click link below, I ALWAYS forward the email to spoof@paypal.com They will shut down the site doing it, Same goes for ebay, forward to spoof@ebay.com.
You might just save some others some headaches.

Made all the calls to PayPal and my bank and believe it or not I got all my money back.

I think I caught the illegal transfer early enough that with the emails and phone calls I got the $314 that was taken.

Everything looks good.

That's good news. Glad to hear it.

I'm glad to hear it all worked out. I got screwed out if a knife on eBay, and I filed a dispute and paypal ruled in my favor, but of course the money wasn't in the guys account so I didn't get anything. PayPal has it's ups and downs.
