"Counter-terrorism" knives??

This was before they found out about 'Glock leg', but yeah, they(SOF) were REALLY impressed with the trigger-mounted safety, and the point-and-shoot capability.
GLOCK leg is bull. Carried a GLOCK for the last twenty years. My old man carried a GLOCK since it was introduced. Not a problem. GLOCK leg happens because someone doesn't properly handle firearms or the holster is defective.

At my former agency, we had a malfunction with a Safariland SSIII Holster. Safariland admitted it was an issue with their holster, not the gun in any way, and recalled every holster we had and replaced them with the Raptor Series.

Anyways, yes, SOF was impressed with GLOCK.

I don't think the Navy or DEVGRU is contracting anything from Winkler.

I think some knife nut SEAL bought a Winkler, his buddies liked it and all started buying them too. Next thing you know the Winkler Belt Knife is "the" SEAL knife; for the time being anyway.
SEALs definitely get knives from winkler on contract and has for years. I know of several knives specifically designed for teams and only given to them. I own one of the dive knives he made for the teams and was given it by the SEAL it was issued to. He made belt knives specifically to their design and they’re marked as such same with tomahawks. He’s also made them for other SOF groups. It was a big focus of his company for a long time

You know, I go to fpds.gov and see contracts for Buck Knives, Strider Knives, Emerson Knives, Mission Knives, and a few others; but no Winkler knives. I also see procurements for knives from Lowes, Knifecenter, etc. Sorting by contracting agency we see that USSOCOM has contracted knives from Reeve, SOG, Tactical and Survival Specialties (sheaths in this case), Complete Packaging and Shipping, and of course Strider.

Searching for the words 'winkler' and 'tool' yields a number of hits for contracts with W+D machinery out of Shawnee Kansas. Turns out thats the US office for a mail solutions company...

Must be part of those super secret squirrel black ops procurements. But hey, I can't find Cold Steel in there either and I know SEALs have carried those, though I presume they just bought them at the Exchange.

During my time in the sandbox I was issued a Gerber 06 Auto. Loved that bruiser of a knife and it was really my first introduction to knives outside of the gas station variety.

I mean, you probably don't just have one $6500 knife if your spec ops.
Sure, you have your counter-terrorist knife, but you probably also have a demo knife, a counter-rope knife, a counter-MRE knife...
You know what I mean? Like... they probably don't carry a compass- it's probably a $6500 knife with a compass in the pommel.
And sometimes you're not just fighting terrorists, right? like your target might be an invading force (a la Red Dawn).
Naturally you'd have an counter-invasion force knife.

Learnt everything I know about counterterrorism in this secret video, even shows what knife to use at around 3.40.

Oh yeahhh, we gonna Draxx them Terries sklounst. Draxx 'em reeeeal sklounts.
So glad you posted this, been referencing this for a while but people have not seen it and just thought I was a maniac 😂

Never buy an anti-terrorism knife that won't help you fireboard those motherjammers.

I've seen online knives that look like Winkler belt knives made in CPM-3V that were labeled "Winkler Knives VI (serial number)" on the tang instead of the standard "Winkler Knives II" or just "Winkler Knives" (the one I saw was numbered 1332), so they definitely have made specialty knives for SEALs, and atleast over a thousand of them. Winkler's relationship with the SEALs seems to be more than just some guy on the teams who bought a couple for him and his buddies.
