That sucks...

Let’s see if we can find the right forum …

on the knife they are "selling" there is no logo or anything...but in a random spot is where the BM pics are and its a very similar knife...maybe since their knife isnt one and the others may be deceiving but are just pics...i donno but that could be how...though i have seen buck knives that i know werent buck but had the logo on them....

man that is terrible, some guy is actually believes it is a black class benchmade to
they also have a gerber knock off

I bought a knife on ebay and the one pictured IS actually the real deal. The problem is that the guy took the photos off of the deal extreme site and sent me the junk knife. I am hagling with him now. He has chosen to blackmail me by putting negative feedback on my after I posted my negative feedback first. He wants to mutually withdraw the comments.

20 year old kid in Fenton, Michigan doing this too. Actually found his myspace account after a few minutes online. Looks like a punk.

So, $72 later I have $12 back for two-day shipping and hope to get the $60 back for the knife. I should turn him in for mail fraud since he used US postal service to sell counterfeit goods. That is called mail fraud and a Federal offense.

You can't go a day without someone trying to screw you now days.

Here is my other post on this forum:

Even want to buy a knife on Ebay??

I don't suggest doing so.

Here is my experience with buying a Benchmade on Ebay.

Too bad the photo used in the auction doesn't match the product
being delivered.

Enjoy

The auction listed these photos and described "Benchmade" in the title:

This is what arrived:

Oh yeah, I found his address and full name too. You think Fenton PD would like to know that one of its residents is commiting mail fraud?

Note to self....don't use US Postal Service when cheating people.

Anyway, he has offered a refund and I have requested one so I am waiting to see what happens.

Outside of that he replied to my negative feedback by writing ME negative feedback saying that I was a "Bad Ebayer" etc.....

He wants a mutual withdrawl of our comments too. What nerve.

Just be careful and DON'T buy knives on ebay. What a waste of time this has been.

My first screw on Ebay in all my years buying.

I posted a COUNTERFEIT review at dealXcrappola. But they won't post
it on their site I'm sure.

This review, probably made up, made me laugh until I hurt.

"Pros: Due to the materials used in construction, this knife has an excellent 'feel' to it. It's very light weight and nicely balanced. And as the photos show, it looks great. It operates very smoothly. Overall, I am very impressed.

Cons: None, really. I'm not sure why this is priced a little higher than some of the other knifes on DX, but it may be due to materials used in making it.

Other Thoughts: I've seen some complain about the logos, but they do make a good impression on people when gift giving. This knife is a real beauty and has that feel of authenticity.

Bottomline: I think I'll pick up a few and get the bulkrate discount. Thanks DX, my friends now see me as the "go to guy" when it comes to getting real deals on knifes, flashlights, and other gadgets! "

I hope these people rot in Hell.

That's absolutely revolting! Deal Extreme are a bunch of bottom feeding slimey scumbags.
True, but at the same time I can't help considering this a case of payback that Benchmade richly deserves.

What's the deal with some Spyderco lovers hating Benchmade so much? Did they actually DO something bad, or is this another case of "you can't like Nine Inch Nails AND Metallica, it's not allowed!"
Seriously, what's the deal folks???

I do not, and cannot speak for anyone except myself. In my eyes yes, they did something bad. So I can't feel any sympathy for them when someone rips off their intellectual property the way they ripped off someone else's. If that makes me a bad person, so be it.

I'm just wondering what they ripped off then. There seems to be alot of...ill-will, and usually that stems from something bad, yet I've never seen it articulated.
If it was an unlicensed use of the hole, or an unattributed reproduction of someone's design, then I could get what the fuss is about. I might not care so much myself, but at least I'd get WHAT the deal was.

Again, I can only speak for myself, but yes, for me it's "about the hole". Most specifically, about the use of it on the 630 Skirmish and 635 Mini-Skirmish. Regardless of what you choose to believe about the fairness of the current "agreement", those two knives clearly predated it and represent a clear and blatant violation of Spyderco's trademark.

Well, thank you for the clarification. At least I now get what the deal has been about.
I was kinda confused for awhile because no one would say what the issue was.
I still like Benchmade, and they were my entry into the higher quality knife market, but, by the look of my current collection and credit card bill, the Spyders are winning!:D

I am not nearly as consequent as Deacon in condemning BM, especially after Sal has asked to put the issue to rest and I have also no insight into the relationship between Sal and Desassis, but there seems to be some complexity. But I think it is only correct to point out, that the "hole-issue" has not been the first incidence, or the last, in which BM has clearly "borrowed" from the Spyderco pool of ideas. The incidences that I can list of the top of my had (roughly in chronological order):

- AFCK is a modified Spyderco Police (the "designer" has openly admitted it and has cited very strange personal issues with Sal as reason to to BM with it)
- BM has claimed to have invented bi-directional texturing on their knifehandles, even though it was first introduced by Spyderco
- The infraction of the trademarked hole (especially in light of the fact that the hole shape had to be changed on the AFCK due the fact that Spyderco, did not wish to licence it to BM anymore)
- The BM Vex is essentially a Spyderco Terzula model

Those are the occurrences between the two companies that comes immediately to my mind. Those that have been around the block a few time more might know of others.

i may have gotten ripped off, i paypalled for a 910 just like the linked one the other day and i see a negative feedback pop up on the seller that the knife sent to a buyer was a counterfeit. im gonna hunt this sucker down.
