When people make a a copy of something. As packs or other knifes. Its one thing, We know what we buy and if its not good enough the real company wont suffer. We know we didnt get the Original (the good one). But counterfiting down right stinks. What Ebay policy about it???? I bet that guy knows exactly what he is selling.

A vendor can get a special account where they are verified as the owner of trademarks, copyrights, etc. and end any counterfeit auctions that they see without question. This includes the actual item being auctioned along with the pictures and text in the description.
Before I came on board, the online business I run now sold some Patagonia samples on ebay using Patagonia's pictures in the auctions. It didn't matter that the items were authentic and direct from a vendor rep, they were using the pictures and descriptions without permission, so Patagonia had the auctions ended. The worst (best?) part is that the seller gets zero fees back.
On the other side, we sold a lot of The North Face over Christmas and received a message about halfway through November that we were selling too much and would not be allowed to create any more listings of TNF for a month or so. This was a problem since we had thousands of dollars worth of stuff to sell. We contacted ebay and told them that we were legit, had a physical store, were licensed and all that fun stuff, and ebay removed the limit.
Anyway, the point is that ebay knows about the problems and will work with vendors and sellers to make sure that counterfeits are taken care of when noticed, but they will not end auctions that do not need to be ended. The problem is that Tops is obviously not policing ebay, so counterfeits might pop up every now and then with no recourse.
