Counterfeit Tracker Knife !!!

interestingly, i emailed the (at the time) high bidder...letting him know it was counterfeit. 5 minutes after i emailed him, the seller ended the bidding early and "awarded" the knife to the high bidder i emailed at his $202 bid.

i wonder if the "high bidder " was a shill to boot and thats why the bidding ended early???:barf:

Sure sounds like it.

Up for bidding is a Cosmetic inferior Tracker!

I got this from a liquidation and have no idea what the model is, only have knife and shealth.

The condition overall is excellent and seems like never used!

I tried my best to show the condition from the picture.

should you have any other question or require more pictures just drop me a messeage!

He calls it a Tracker yet says he doesn't know what model it is.

Return is not accpted in this auction, Please read item Describtion carefully before placing a bid

Yep, usually a sign of a rat!:p

Anyway, the point is that ebay knows about the problems and will work with vendors and sellers to make sure that counterfeits are taken care of when noticed, but they will not end auctions that do not need to be ended.
You are wrong sir.

Read from post #89 on especially (read from the beginning if you got time)
It's very interesting stuff regarding EBAY and fakes..........

Trent,

That's interesting. Especially brought home by BRL's post 111, and your critique of eBay in post 113. Thanks for bringing that to our attention.

Wow, a Tom Brain Tracker knife! That guy's famous - heard he can track one of them water skater bugs across the surface of a pond!! :D

The Alfa Romeo board has a couple of regulars with ebay contacts (official?) for contacting regarding fraud. Many fraudulent car ads have stolen photos and the message board posters recognize the car, photo or both. Someone posts the scam link on the board and it is very quickly reported to ebay and removed.

Even though I'm not a fan of the Tracker, this is a disgrace. I'm a writer and the fact that there are people out there who will stoop this low to steal someone else's creation pisses me off.

Well, that is very interesting. I was speaking from experience with items where you have to prove that you are a representative of that company. The ability of someone to end any auction that they want is disturbing. I wonder if ebay's new rules changed any of that.

I was referring to this program, but ebay also apparently lets anyone report a counterfeit. How do they determine if the report is valid?

ROFL
That is WHAT I'm SAYING!!!! :thumbdn: :thumbdn:
All I know is that there is TWO Civil War knife guys that EBAY uses as consultants
"What u got Iceman??"
"Item # 123234542078....Dagger....It's a go!! Red dog!! Red dog!!"
"Roger that....item being removed in T minus 30 seconds"
"Wilco.....proceed to next item in question"
"Copy.....Item # 12397807596...Confederate officers sword..."

My main beef is that the policy/protocol for having something removed is not stated anywhere on EBAY
I would also like to know if there is an appeal process
And I recognize the fact that EBAY is a private company and can do whatever they want
And if I don't like the terms I do not have to use EBAY....

I could go on and on with the issues I have with this
But I'll let you guys discuss it
I want to see if I am the only one this policy upsets
And I promised the authority I would tone down my swipes ;)

I especially liked this part at the bottom of the description "Return is not accpted in this auction, Please read item Describtion carefully before placing a bid
" . Guess that makes later discovery even harder to deal with. Need 1 dark alley and the dealer and about ten long minutes.......we can remedy this problem :)

I have had pretty good success with E bay. I was short shifted one time but I blame myself for not looking closer. I have had bids run up that make me wonder. The only early ended auction that I was ticked with was for an old butcher knife with figures carved on it. It suddenly ended when the guy realized it was worth something. He is just someone I won't deal with again. I run into these people at regular stores.

I had the picture of this up on the computer and went to grab something from the other room.

When I got back my girlfriend was leaning over the desk, looking at the computer screen.

She looked at me and said, "Who's Torn Brain? What's that about?"

I said "Baby, I am dating you for your looks. But I also find the things you say entertaining."

So there you go...it's the Torn Brain Tracker.

i just got a reply from the winning bidder. i emailed him yesterday to warn him its a fake. he was quite upset (naturally) and wanted some backup proof so he could confront the POS seller.

i sent him a copy of this url. hope he reads it.:) :)
