"Farm house stuff"??? I inherited my meat grinder from my mother...I recall her using it for meat (well, of course!) and other stuff, back in the '50's... :)

I last used it back in the '70's...We figured all those leftover seeds and stems must be good for something, so we fed them to the meat grinder and then on to Captain ZigZag...Woof...Good Stuff!!!... :foot:

Back when I used to stop at the "local bar" on the way home from the Air Base, we'd watch "Jag" and count all the mistakes...Wrong ribbon order; markmanship badge positioned incorrectly; nobody wearing pisscutters (Bellisario must have liked the Ralph Kramden covers); hair touching collars; Harm yelling for a "medic"; etc... :D

I'm starting to collect the DVDs, too...It took me a couple of episodes to catch on that it was a put on... ;)

Hill Street Blues swept the Emmys for a couple years...people thought it was gritty realistic...Now it's just ho-hum... :p

Wrong ribbon order???

You must have worked in personnel. They were the only ones I ever heard of who actually KNEW the correct ribbon order.

:D

Now you guys have started something.....I probably have to go to Amazon and see if there's any "Hill Street" DVDs available. I liked that show.

Any show that has Catherine Bell in a bikini is good TV, :D
Catherine Bell in a bikini !!!! how did i miss that one! :(

There was a big full-color poster of any & all ribbons a person could accumulate (enlisted & officer) starting with CMH on down, posted in our 1st Sgt's office...The poster read from left to right, top to bottom (in order of wear) - just like a newspaper. You matched your ribbon bars with the poster. Also the acorns had to be position at the right angle; stars aligned; etc.

Officers had their [color] pics taken for their OER's & SRB's, with ribbons showing...and they had better all be there, in order, with acorns & stars, or they got gigged...OSB's took that crap seriously... ;)

I still have an 8x11 color poster here somewhere...

Here's a link - I don't know how current this is, though...
