couple of jungle photos

The RC-4 is thicker than what is typically found in Latin America (unless its military issue). Most all of jungle folks use nothing thicker than kitchen knives. And it's not because they can't get anything else. I have purposely taken new thick knives down there on numerous occasions and they don't like them. The military there uses a similar Kabar style issue knife but that's as thick as it gets. Most all knife work done in Latin America is with very thin knives.

Intresting. I like my RC-4 Jeff.;)

Great photos guys, thanks for sharing with us. I am too poor to ever get to go to places like these, so I'll settle for your photos!

For snakes I too am not too fond of them at all. You can hand me a pet snake and it's no big deal, not scared at all. One flops over my boot in the woods and it's another story! :D I will not try to harm them, unless they are aggressive, then I will win, sorry snake.

When I was little I was walking home and found a small snake, I took a closer look and the sucker sat up and puffed out a hood like a cobra. I about had a stroke, ran home and my dad did not believe me and we went back out and managed to find it again. It was a hognose snake we found out, we caught it and kept him for a few days and then turned him back loose. They puff up, kinda like a cobra and if that does not work they will run or play dead. Still scared me as a little kid, and I bet he still could today if one puffed up out of the leaves near me!

I just had my wife come over to the computer so I could show her the pics of the knife company that I buy from in action.

I told her "Good thing there are no gators near us or they'd be on the grille"

She wasn't as impressed as I was................ :)

I'm not Bear, but let me say that the Blade-Tech PH has taken over the SERE 2000 as being my favorite survival folder. The BEST designed folder I have ever used. Period.

Would you be willing to sell your sere 2000 then. I would like to buy it. I can't afford a new one. trying to save money for some Izulas you know.:D

That video "Fun with Tom" is hilarious.

"Are you a theif?!"

"huh?"

did he understand you? :D

The video didn't show the whole conversation. This kid was one of the little bastards in the gang that stole my camera filters. :D Anyway, he came up to me and asked in English "what is your name?" So I answered him in English and then went on the "thief" deal. He didn't understand so I asked him in Spanish and he got it and knew I was talking about the "heist" the night before.

Chet: Think I'll keep my S2K ;)

Thanks for the pics. I could stand outside in the south Georgia humidity and heat and see the Amazon pics on my computer screen. Almost like being there! Loved the gator sticking pic. :D Go Bulldogs!

You know what struck me about the blades in the pics (especially the machetes)? It wasn't the thickness, but rather the length. It's en vogue these days to grap a 12" long piece of sheet metal and call it a machete. Those guys seem to understand why you want some length.

Maybe I'm on drugs or need to be, but I see a big difference in performance between my 22" Ontario machete, and an 18" one -- both sharp.

I will be there too!My wife gave me the OK, I went to get a passport already:o, the last time I was out of country was in the army. I am super stoked! This will be awesome!

 I am more of a PE kinda guy, but the fit and finish are awesome! I cant wait to get me a sere, and an izula or 3 though!
