Someone here turned me onto Cove Cutlery's deal of the day a while ago. Every day they feature one knife (or flashlight or multitool, etc) at something like 40%-50% off. Their regular online prices are pretty high, around 85% of MSRP, but the Deal of the Day thing is well priced, and you can sign up to get it via email, which I did a few months back.
Anyway, last week the Deal was a Sharpmaker for $41.24, with free shipping if I get something else to push it up to $50, so I added a 5" EZE-LAP diamond steel and pulled the trigger.
It shipped the way I wanted, got here in less than a week (across the holiday weekend), and the owner was available on the phone for questions like "What's my UPS package number?"
I can't say I'll shop their catalog regularly, although they do a have a nice selection of some things, but I will definitely keep checking their email specials, and I'd encourage anyone interested in production knives and accesories to do the same. It's usually something I don't want, but it tends to be something good - Benchmade, Spyderco, etc - at least once a week or so, and it's something OK like Camillus or Kershaw a lot more often than it's stuff like V-Tech.
