• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

CPK and Whisky (or other vices), a pictorial

I am whisk(e)y guy, through and through. That said, I have been expanding my bar with other spirits - notably: gins, vodkas, and rums. I've acquired some EXCELLENT sipping varieties of all of them. This is a new one that I just got - a Peruvian gin with an assortment of berries listed amongst the botanicals used.

It's very good. Kind of has citrus and spice, and everything nice. Including the DEK2 because though I am plenty secure in my manhood, it never hurts to have backup in moments like these. 😁

Oh my! That sounds/looks fantastic. I am by no means a particularly knowledgeable gin drinker, but I do like a good gin on occasion. that sounds really interesting. I am going to keep an eye out for that one.

On the subject of gin, since I know you are an Oregonian as well, have you tried Thinking Tree Gin? It is made in Eugene, and I really like it. It is a gin that you can drink on its own, but also use as a mixer without feeling guilty (I know that I have really found myself choosing whiskeys that I feel okay mixing or adding ice to). Everyone I've introduced to Thinking Tree Gin has loved it. I have friends in other states that ask anyone passing through Oregon to pick up a bottle for them.

The sledge looks mighty sexy on the DEK2.

Cheers CPK !!! Haven’t had a day off work for I don’t know how long so we did our Thanksgiving celebration last night. It was a wonderful gathering of family, friends, food, and libations !

The usual Jack, Jameson, beer, whine, and ciders were enjoyed. That said, I wanted to celebrate the many hours worked recently, due to severe weather in the PNW.

Also, I went to a horrific car versus pole fatality accident on Thanksgiving night and it’s been clawing at me a bit. All good though, being surrounded by loved ones and focusing on life’s MANY blessings has me in a joyous place.

So…I picked up a jug of unfamiliar Bulleit 95 proof 12 year aged yumminess. It is fantastic and was a huge hit. Might even have a nip in my coffee….as we speak ! 😝 It is merging very nicely with Mom’s cinnamon roll and a stogy at half-time will be the icing on the cake.

GO HAWKS !!!
