thanks Guys she better this morning able to walk it’s just the getting up that is slow. Many trips out side last night her stomach is bothering her. I slept with her on the air mattress in the living room she normally jumps on are bed but that’s not going to be happening any more.

Hi pease pease , I was just thinking, Incase you don’t know of this, there is a special harness they make for dogs to help out supporting their back leg strength. This is extremely helpful once their condition gets worse, especially when the dog goes to squat down to relieve themself.

The harness has loops that slip up and over each back leg and goes up to the hips. Then it buckles over their back and gives you a handle to hold onto. You can then walk beside or behind your dog while also supporting them by taking their weight off their back legs.

This harness is really helpful, especially when the dog begins to squat down to relieve themself. This will prevent the dog from squatting down onto and into their own waste as their rear legs fail to support them and give out, yet they can safely relive themself with your help (by holding the harness up for them).

We used that harness here for our guy during his last year and a half. Vastly improved his dignity and ability to squat down. Gone was the daily washing him off after every trip outside and him being unable to hold the squat position and having him then sit down onto/into his own waste as he was going.

You two hang in there, Pease, I deeply hope she gets better soon ...

Here is a picture of such harness, if it helps.

Stepdad had a little dog that had issues. Vet said to give her peoples glucosamine which was cheaper than vet could sell. Had to do doggie doses though.
Also heard diet/treats can cause all sorts of issues.
I’m not a vet or Dr. just want Bella to do better and not suffer so please research before taking my advice. I also don’t want you to suffer as I understand a little what it’s like to have them hurting and there’s nothing I can do 😥
I love doggies and kitties!
🥰

Last night she finally ate a good amount of food (rice, barley and chicken) and is wanting to go for a walk we did in the yard. This morning is better yet her movement is much smoother and less painful She was up licking my face to go outside and had a normal poop. We slept on the air mattress again.

Wife and I get to go to the vet tomorrow to learn how to give our cat insulin shots...yippee
Please ask the Vet the physical signs to look for if your cat should go too low (low blood glucose due to too much insulin, or not eating enough to offset the insulin given). Make absolutely sure you know the different ways to quickly treat your cat (or a dog) immediately at home, as going too low can quickly become a life and death situation if not immediately treated.

I’m sorry to hear you are about to go through this. It’s not hard to inject insulin, mostly depends on the mood and disposition of the animal and you being gentle. Distraction is a big help.

If you ever want to contact me, I’ll be glad to talk you through any of it, or answer any questions you might have.

Thanks for the offer! He's pretty mellow, so hoping it won't be too bad.
