Casinostocks Im assuming mastiff? I noticed the similarities as well! Drax is 8 months and 90lbs! Heās a Presa Canario, basically a mastiff from the Canary Islands View attachment 2116589
Haha well whatever they are they are great looking dogs! I can definitely see some Rotty in there too!I haven't done a DNA on Roman but he does have kind of Mastiff "vibe" to him. But as you can see from his direct and indirect siblings, not much of anything Mastiff in them. What I know is that one of their grand sire was actually mostly Chesapeake retriever and on the other side a red-nose pitbul and lab mixtures. There are like 7-8 generations of these dogs and there was quite a bit of interbreeding but not within direct siblings so no mongrels. It is very possible that the area where their ancestors come from, there were Mastiffs and also Rottweilers because one pup had Rotty coloring, spots and patterns. Mine has a Masstif look but he won't be huge like a male Mastiff 120+ or do they hit 140? I hope that mine stays in the 90-100 range!
I had a French Mastiff that had congenital kidney failure and made it to be 9 and a half. Thatās pretty good for those guys. My first mastiff was a bull mastiff and we had a couple of French mastiffs and a Brazilian. Not all at the same time.I love mastiff breeds. Trying to transition to the working line German Shepherd dogs we have now has been an adjustment to put it mildly.Bella is full bull mastiff she's was a rescue in a sense... became a part of our family a little after she was 1

You forgot shoes...Happy 10th Birthday Sadie, you look so innocent there too. Wishing you a fun filled day with extra nap time and loads of attention.
We had 2 English mastiff/Great Dane dogs that were wonderful and 160lbs of lap dog. I had sibling Tosa Inuās (Japanese mastiffs) after having a Cane Corso (Italian mastiff). We now have a pitbull and a Fila (Brazilian mastiff) crossed with GSD. Mastiff breeds of all sorts are amazing dogs. My wife got me the Tosaās as a gift and they were truly the best dogs I have ever been around. They both made it past 11 years and I miss them every day. My Fila mix is a wonderful dog, but I tell her sometimes I wish she would be more mastiff-like than shepherd.I had a French Mastiff that had congenital kidney failure and made it to be 9 and a half. My fila was the softest, sweetest of all my mastiffs with the family including a pug and a kitten/cats but strangers at the house was pretty much a no go. It was fine for us since we live very remotely and donāt have many visitors or mailmen or ect. But he was good at the vet and in the truck. The Portuguese word for their temperament is Ojeriza 'Detesting Strangers and he was true to it. Iāve seen some around here that arenāt that way and Iām sure our living situation only exemplified it but he was a great dog for us.We had 2 English mastiff/Great Dane dogs that were wonderful and 160lbs of lap dog. A breeder here had plans for a litter that we were hoping to get one from, but it didnāt happen. Seem like wonderful dogs.I want me a boerboel.![]()
My girl tolerates the vet, but detests strangers (human and animal). Our vet said he has had more aggression issues at the clinic with Filaās than any other breed. She is so good with us and the pitbull, but quite the watchdog. When we went to meet her for the first time, 2 guys were holding her 130lb shredded brindle Fila dad on a huge chain. He was slobbering and barking and looked ferocious. As soon as I said hi to him he just chilled out, then suddenly was letting me and my wife rub his belly and give him scritches and rough housed a bit. She, my Cane, and both Tosas would stop eating to wag and give you a kiss.
