CPK Pet Thread

It’s a pinch collar. They don’t poke, but they do pinch the skin if the dog pulls hard. If you have a dog that thinks it’s a sled dog all the time they can be a very helpful to discourage that behavior.

This. We use them when going to the vet or with other unknown dogs around. They are loose unless the dog pulls. Vet is perfectly ok with the collar.

Funny thing in CA, if an aggressive Chihuahua attacks a Rotti or Corso, it’s always the big dog’s fault.

I take the woofer into the hill’s nightly for hike / dog park.. Thursday night I noticed something was following us, tossing something in the air and jumping around. There was a large coyote that seemed to be attempting to play with Sam ( my dog ). We watched this coyote toss a blanket around like a toy, kept dropping it in front of Sam.. not sure if the coyote was trying to lure Sam into a trap or what ( Sam is about 82 pounds and full of teenage energy ). The coyote followed us about 1/4 mile before disappearing into the hills. Interesting experience.

The 3rd pic is Sam watching our backs for his feral buddy

This is a known tactic of coyotes. They will lure domestic dogs with play and then attack, either alone or with their pack waiting close by. I’m glad you and Sam had a positive experience.

The coyotes definitely run in small packs out here. Any animals under 40 pounds seem to be fair game..

No sightings last night.. still managed to get covered in dirt and make it to the grocery store by midnight 🥇. Woofer turned 2 years old - getting a steak today ( though he gets them fairly often 😂 ).
