CPM-110V Shallot

OK correct me if i am wrong, but we dont have pics yet right? if that is the case then i do believe that this could be the most understated looking knife Kershaw has produced in a long while. no frils, no bells or whistles when it comes to looks. just the S110V and a normal Shallot handle? talk about so simple and plain, but packing WAY more than anyone could think. :D

i agree with Joe, another wonderful first :D

Excellent! Say Thomas, is there any serious contemplation of using 11V in other designs? I am eager for the steel but not a huge fan of recurves. I'll have to grab a 110V Shallot anyway, but I was wondering if this might make an appearance elsewhere? Thansk!

So this is basically stainless 10V? Higher attainable hardness and wear resistance than S90V, and stainless...that should be awesome stuff.
Suddenly, M4 doesn't sound so interesting anymore.

Yes It will
And perfectly
Thats how I always do my recurves.. Like my blur..
Dont worry about it
Matt

to not be elusive, a seller on ebay lists them, and knifeworks says they are shipping on Friday the 7th.

Yep, understated is a good way to put it. This steel should be one of the best steels ever produced for a folder, and here it is, no fuss, no muss. Not even a magazine article yet. Released like any other sprint run.

Unfortunately I couldn't get a ZDP Shallot, but this S110V model is a definite must have. I'd get a few if I could.

"S90V on steroids" would pretty much put it ahead of just about anything out there wear resistance wise. The higher RC should also help on edge stability, and wear resistance.

The edge stability of ZDP, and the wear resistance of S90V ( or higher) are pretty much the goals to shoot for. I haven't been as excited about a knife steel since ZDP was brought out some time back.

This steel wouldn't be possible without the particle metalurgy process. Regular ingot steels wouldn't work with this much alloys stuffed into it.

Amazing stuff really. I'm looking foreward to an article about the development of this steel as it took some time, testing, and expertise on crucibles part. Joe
