WTF? What rock have I been hiding under? When did this happen? I have now found my “white whale”.... I hate that I missed that sprint run. I should have never gotten out of knife collecting for all those years. I might have been around to grab one at the normal price. The few I have found have been at custom knife prices. Arrhfhghghghghghgh

Just checked through my email, and mine shipped November 2, 2010, so it was about a year and a half ago.

It was $209.95 + $7.95 shipping = $219.90

And yeah, they're nice :D

OK thanks for the info. I just looked on ebay and the dude on there is smoking crack for what he’s asking. lol... If you ever get tired of yours and want something else let me know hahahaah :D The hunt continues.

I love mine!

I scored mine LNIB in September last year, saw the ad 2 minutes after it was listed and pulled the trigger. Carried it on site for 2 months and it formed a good patina. Started my M4 craze. They pop up every now and then. Of the 500 out there I have seen little posts of people using them so one should be able to find one NIB or LNIB.

Hope these can tie you over till you get yours.

Here is the knife still reasonably new with some Patina formed in the first month or so:

Here she is with a good edge. The G10 is much smoother then it was when new, but that is what happens with G10 and my uses.

I wouldn't sell mine. I carry it too much. You wouldn't want it for the same reason; it's far from factory fresh:

You'll probably have to pay a bit of a premium. All Spyderco sprints fetch a high price, but even the M390 Military straight from KW was $20 more than it retailed for, so I guess costs have gone up. M4 alone is worth it IMO. I re-beveled that one a couple times (as you can probably tell), but it's something around 20* (inclusive) in the back and 25* at the edge. Even that acute, it stays sharp a bit longer than M390 at 30*. It also feels a lot more solid around the pivot than the CF version (less flex, more of that 'bank vault' feel).

Marthinus, what do you have the edge angle at? It looks pretty acute also.

Oh I am NOT a collector. I love me some dirty M4! I would just assume buy a user with solid lockup than a LNIB one unless I could find one at the price they originally sold for. I can’t stand letting a sexy knife sit and not get used. I use my Gayle Bradley on food and just clean it with water and wipe it dry. I like em like that. I just love the Military folder and CPM-M4 is my favourite steel now, so I know I need to track one down.

Well, the nice thing about these is they were the first with the steel lock bar insert, so you shouldn't have to worry about lock up. It was actually a surprise. No one realized they would have them until they shipped out. It was after that the standard TiMil got them. Mine settled in pretty quickly at around 50% and hasn't moved

i think there's one in e-bay. it's a dream knife and i would have bidded but it was kinda above my budget. i got the ti s30v.

addendum: it's gone, someone must have snapped it up. there are still titaniums but in s30v. there's one in s90v and carbon fiber (liner lock.) also a couple sprint runs with CTS-XHP g-10 (also liner.)

That was a fair price, maybe cheap. Really.

Sorry if I don’t understand this and I don’t want to sound disrespectful but if the knife was $209 new how is $375 a good price at all? We’re not talking about baseball cards or gold coins here. Please explain this to me. And just know I have had Graphic Sebenzas, DDR , Elishewitz and Strider customs. I’m not blind to high end knives. I just don’t understand how a production knife gains that kind of value. Is it the I have it and you can’t get it thing?

I really hope Spyderco will put out another millie with ti/ G10 frame out sometime in the future. I would prefer a more corrosion resistant blade though.
I had one of these for a few weeks and it would start to patina by me just leaving a finger print on the blade. I take good care of my knives but with the M4 you have to
wipe it down constantly if you don't want it to patina.

You're kind of jumping into an argument that's been going back and forth both here and on the Spyderco forums... :/
Check out some of the new orange XHP Para2's - the price from CS was something around $135 or $140; now anything below $200 seems to be considered a good price for someone to get one. The argument by the added-value resellers tends to be "We paid attention and got in on the preorder, this is how free markets work, people are willing to buy them at these prices, and at least we're giving other fans a chance to get one." The counters go from "that's a pretty low-down thing to do to other forum members and enthusiasts" to "If you hadn't bought two with plans to flip both maybe I could have gotten in on the preorder and wouldn't need to buy from you." It's a bit of a mess.

Basically, getting in on the preorders is the only way to ensure the retail price. And the orange para2 preorder closed out in 12 days, the green one in 6 or 7.

erm, any of you gentlemen can tell me how much my "new" miliary ti s30v would have cost when it first came out?

It is still a current production model so pick you favorite dealer and check out the price. The MSRP is 350.
