CPM-M4 G10-Ti Framelock Military?

This is the reaction I expect from a normal, rational person. I guarantee there will be more sprint runs in the future that will be just as, if not more appealing than this one. You probably won't see much for framelock sprints from now on, but don't let that bother you, I think Spyderco does a much better job with the Liner lock on the Military.

Certainly right about more sprints. I recall a post by Sal Glesser saying they weren't likely to accept another Ti/G10 hybrid exclusive project...not sure why...it wouldn't seem any harder to do than the regular Ti framelock.

The way I see it, its impossible to get ripped off. If you buy a G10/Ti Military for $375 on ebay, you must think it was worth it or you wouldn't have bought it. And if you think it was worth it, you weren't ripped off. Conversely, if you don't buy it for $375, you also weren't ripped off because you still have $375 in your pocket. So either way, the people who are actually involved can't get ripped off. Its the bystanders who are doing the complaining. :)

Funny post, but (IMO) both true and quite perceptive! :D

Very true and of course that’s the way the cookie crumbles. I just know that the guys that were lucky enough to get in on one of these and actually use it must be really happy. I couldn’t buy one and just stare at it and watch it collect value. That thing just screams “USE ME” like a drunk chick with low self esteem. I can only blame my absence from buying knives for me not getting one of these so it’s not like I waited too long to buy one... When I started this thread it was the first I had even seen one. Either way, if a user comes up for sale or trade at what I deem a good price, I will grab it. But I’m not spending over $200 on it. But a user that’s been sharpened and has some patina/rust shouldn’t command some huge dollar amount.

Before it had really any patina

These two were the day I received it.

Must've deleted my most recent pic, showing more staining. But this CPM M4 stains really slowly, and really light in shade when it does. So, in some light, you'd hardly even notice any discoloration.

I sold my M4 Millie and picked up the full Ti Millie with lockbar insert. I couldn't be happier, I like the heft and strength of two full slabs of Ti.

M4 is nice, but Spyderco's CPM-S30v is not slouch either, and it's stainless.

My local shop had a Ti Millie in stock till just last week. I wasn’t interested at the time but now that I know the full story on how these runs go I’ll have to keep a closer eye on the Millies as they come and go. Luckily Warriors and Wonders is just 5 minutes from my house so if something cool comes in I can pounce on it lol...

Make sure it has the lockbar insert if you buy any form of Ti Military. To my knowledge, Spyderco doesn't treat their lock face's and they have had problems with the original pre-lockbar Millies.

Ok thanks for the heads up.

I loves me some M-4 also, so I snapped up Millie when it came out.

Just found Bark River makes a small fixed blade "EDC" in CPM-M4 too -

Got it :p

decided to get some updated pics of mine for the recent "user spydie" thread.

This has basically been in my pocket since I received it from KW. There was a month where I only carried an Opinel. And maybe another month combined of me picking a different knife. But other than that, it's been all the Military. I generally ride my bike to and from work, which is about 7 miles. Including when we were having torrential downpours, also including days getting near 100+ degrees. Then I work 8-10 hours on my feet, outside, sweating and moving heavy objects... never had a problem with rust with this steel. I've had a few specklings of very light red rust, which literally took about 10 seconds to rub off. Other than that, it's all good.

I have one and it is still NIB. I love the Military and have quite a few of them. Just don't carry them much any more and when I do it's usually one of my CPM 440v ones. Going through a flipper stage right now and my Tilt gets most of the rides. Much like the OP, while I wish I had gotten a black bladed Tilt, I haven't brought myself to get one on the bay. I just buy knives that I like. Carry some and look at others.

how do you like the ergos of the tilt? that back edge just looks like a hotspot waiting to happen, but overall I like the knife.

take time out for a mini-rant of mine concerning the fluted titanium. fluting is a rocess wherein you hammer/press a sheet of metal to produce ridges on an otherwise blank sheet. the ridges are duplicated on the opposite side, as a result. well that's not the case with the ti military. one side has parallel grooves machined on it. call it a groovy ti, not fluted.

Well there's a "fluted" Native coming out next.

Try not to go TNT when you see it. :p
