CPM M4 Military Shipping next week!

All paid up. Man I hope I like this Military. I've had a few and I just keep getting rid of them and sliding a Para back in my pocket. Now it's a Para 2. Tough competition for the M4/Ti Millie.

I'm sure you won't have any difficulty recouping your money if you don't like it.

Hi guys,

Just joined the paid and waiting crowd. Glad we don't have to stand outside in freezing cold weather over night to get one.

It would be great if someone receiving one soon posts a pic so we can see what we are looking forward to.

I think it goes without saying that it is the duty of the first recipient of the blade to post pics. :)

Hi folks -

I talked with a young lady today when giving my payment information. She told me the knife would ship Wednesday.

She also said that they had three phone lines going all day for this knife. I can imagine.

best regards -

You say absurd, I say greedy. You want to make more money, get a better job. This is a hobby, not a business... unless your user status says "Dealer". Different values and worldviews. No problem, just split the difference. But buying just the one to turn a profit on is no better in my opinion than buying five to resell immediately. It's the principle.

Buying just to sell, while well withing one's rights, seems a bit unscrupulous to me, but then again I'm not the type to purchase something only to sell it somewhere down the line. I buy things and I keep them. If I don't like them, I usually give them away to someone who may appreciate it more as the money has been spent already. Also, making $100 profit on a single knife is inconsequential to me in the grand scheme of things. I would much rather give someone a fair price for something they want or appreciate.

I'm not condemning or condoning the act of buying strictly to flip for profit. It's just not my thing.

I'm not sure if I agree here. I think that selling a production XM-18 for $600 when one bought it for $395 is ridiculous. This knife is a little different though. Limited run, on a waiting list forever, $20 down payment, and then $200 on top of that. If I don't like the knife, I'm most likely going to be selling it for more than the $220 that I paid. Granted, I won't ask something idiotic like $300. If I ask for $30 more than what I paid for a knife that many want, well hell, I figure I'm doing them a favor. They get a very limited knife that folks want for $30 more than what they originally sold for and they don't have to play the waiting game.

I would just like to add that I said IF I DON'T LIKE IT though. I never said I would be selling this when it arrives. In fact, I'm looking into getting a custom clip made for it and having it installed for tip up carry.

Sure. That's your right and I'm not condemning you for that. I think we are talking more about outright gouging rather than a little extra for troubles. But then again, there are certain things for which I might pay (and have) ridiculous prices in order to obtain due to the rarity of the item. I, personally, just choose not to gouge. (not implying that anyone here is or will).:)

I said it was the same principle, but I will concede there is a distinction to be made here. Like you, and many others (hopefully most;)), it is the outright gouging that irks me. I might also add that I don't have a problem with free market enterprise, capitalism, etc., but there is a place for it, and I don't believe it is here at BladeForums -- try eBay instead.

Eh, if someone is willing to pay a hundred over for a super limited run, then I don't really see a problem. Now, if you were able to order as many as possible, or even 3 or 4, THEN I would consider it very shady. But the fact that you could only get one per person, had to wait nearly a year, including several months after the due date, money down way earlier, etc...

That said, I've had it lined up with a guy from another forum for months, that if I wasn't thrilled with the knife, he'd get it for cost + shipping. charging a ridiculous amount is not something I would feel comfortable doing, but I certainly can't condemn it.

I think its a very good thing that they limit these runs to one per person. That largely puts a stop to profiteering purely for the sake of it.

So when are these likely to arrive at people's homes? Friday? I can't believe no-one is driving to KW to pick it up?!! :D

Heard from KW, and its all paid in full. I'm going away for four days on the 18th so i think it will arrive while im gone, making that wait ever so slightly longer. Ouch, lol.

Got the call today... KW had to call because the credit card was hijacked over the weekend. :thumbdn:

I would imagine Monda pending where you are. Heck I don't even know where they are being shipped from? Golden Colorado?

I thought they were being shipped from KW which is in louisiana, I think. If it ships Wed priority I should get it by Sat.
