CPM S30V Acolytes vs. BG-42 True Believers

Ok It's my turn :). Well I'll come to that knife fight....But...hope nobody is mad at me when I take everyones 110's......silly buckers brining a knife to a gun fight any way :) . Well this year was the 1st time I got to cut up 4 deer in one week, as I was trying out my new AG 110 I can't compair it to the other Buck steels......yet. I do want a 110 with BG42....anyone got one to sell to me????

Hey Rhinoplasty...
Don't sweat the small stuff.
I haven't been around here too long but I sense this is a great bunch of peace niks when it comes to their brethren...as am I. Speaking for myself, I'd prefer sitting at a bar yakking about the steel and, at worst, carve "MK SDPD, Ret." on the bar.....
...Just jabbering as I know that won't happen with this bunch of gentlemen.....
If there is a formally scheduled event, Dave and I will wear nothing but our Speedos to show we are un-armed and can't plant a sharpened unit for the final test and judging at the end of the event.
They are as old as dirt in their experience and intelligence ,, It's all good. ;)
Whilred Peas...

well i had hoped the ref to the door jam cutting was a hint of not cutting each other !!!!
i ment like the blade smiths socity does with hanging rope wood choping ect to test the edge and sharpness

i wanted to watch rhino to have to hang up TP in rows to see who could cut it with one mighty stroke:o !
and rolls of it to test pentration on a hard stab in to the TP roll...
as to speeddo show:eek: .... i think we could send every one to the hospital with stomick cramps from belly laffing so hard when they can see we arnt packing any thing! .... first the club flag and the the simatars on the roof rack ....
mike would call the local on both of us to get the dangerus toys from us ....
and trax would help him pack it all! ;)

Dave:

I'm trying to picture you in an American flag speedo wearing work boots with no socks holding two leashes; each with a yorkie on the other end, while enjoying a beer and showing off your new S30V tatoo. LOL!:D ;)

now thats funny , scary but funny  ive seen some pretty funny stuff but that would be the kicker :D

jb congrats on the deer , i hope you didnt get them all in one day so you got to enjoy the outdoors some:thumbup:

dave while the hanging tp would be a good slicing test i dont think the rolls wouldnt be much of a penetration test , we need to come up with something better but at least theres time , maybe joe or someone from budk can help as i am pretty sure they done their own tests that would probably be much more scientific than ours ;) though not as entertaining :D

Hi Buckman#10,

As luck would have it they were spaced out one deer every other day :). I wanted to try out a few of the Buck knives I had along......however, the 1st one I used......AG 110 SV30 never got dull!!!!!......so I used it for all four deer. I did dull the blade a little by caping out one of the deer's heads for a scull mount.....some of the stuff that you cut through to do this is hard on a blades edge:( . This is the frist time I used the 110 on my deer and    The knife is wonderful for a bunch of reasons. Ergo, blade shape, and the edge holding of that Buck steel:D ......sorry for stealing the thread :foot: .

IMHO, I don't think that describing how well the S30V did on your excursion is "stealing the thread" since it is a steel compare thread. It's good data.

Thanks John...

hay i live next door but who lives across the street, trax or some one else ? ? hee hee ;) :D

After cutting with my Custom Shoppe 110 with BG-42, and my cabela's AG 110 with S30V, I still can't decide which I like best....

BUT, I'm leaning toward the S30V.

It just seems to have a finer edge with alittle less drag--but it might be the coating on the blade?

Allen.

Custom Shop 110 with BG-42 and
Cabelas AG 110 with S30V.
:D

I just cant decide either, I dont have a BG-42 (yet) and I cant use my Cabelas 110...

VERY nice day...

:D Were you the "class clown" in school. ;)
Your post make me LOL
My family thinks I am crazy... ( O.K. O.K. they KNOW I am)
:D

Well...let's just say I was never the one reminding the teacher to collect the previous day's homework assignment!!! Those kids made me :barf:

Hmmm...maybe I accidentally stepped in to "Whine and Cheese"?

Considering that I just got back from being banned for 10 days for insulting a fellow forum member, I'll sit the rest of this one out!:thumbdn:

I hope you're right! Some of these characters look a little shifty to me ... oh, wait! That's my reflection in my monitor that I'm seeing. :D

But, if there is a drunken "show down", I will be there with my 300,000 watt "pager" to stun the 110 BG-42 outta someone that gets outta line of the rules that will be made up on the fly and claim "dibs" in the chaos. That is not "stealing" as I look at it as my public service by "confiscating" the 110 BG-42 for the safety of the indvidual and the larger group.

I like the way you think. In fact, you'd have to confiscate it ... for the children!

Speedos are inherently wrong for any male to wear in public, but Speedos on me brings the crime to new heights. There are a variety of local ordinances barring me from wearing speedos in public here in Indiana. It should probably be a felony.

I will not, however, go anywhere unarmed. On the other hand, me in Speedos would give new meaning to the term "open carry."
