Ok my Emerson lovers !
Couldn't think of whom would be best to ask but my fellow Emerson enthusiasts 👍🏻
I recently had a Sheep dog and really liked it but don't ask me how but it ended up getting caught up in a trade deal :( so I miss it and was thinking of getting another and then the thought crossed my mind why not go to a bigger old school tactical Emerson . Man I've been chomping at the bit and think I really want a 13 but then I start looking at the other Emersons and it puts me on the fence . Such as the iron dragon but don't know if I want to spend that much but could lol . Just not sure about that sweep in the blade in the center . Love the Bowie and the clean lines on the 13 and there's a few others that have caught my eye like the Patriot I believe it was . I know the bearings must be pretty sweet and the frame lock on the dragon though . So should I just stick to my old school 13 desires ? How's the lock up those and blade play and so on , you guys know the traditional questions . Don't want to go too old school to were it might have some issues . Something about Emersons really attract me starting with the feel in hand , lightning fast deployment and simplicity to just mention a few things off the the top of my head .
What do you guys think and make it fast lol I've got a 13 in my basket and a dragon in the wings lerking lol.

That's a hard question, but here is a fast answer, get both, ha ha. I don't have either one of those models, but you really can't go wrong with any one since you like Bowie knives so much; for my taste and talking old school, a cqc8 or 15 would do the trick but I usually stay away from recurved blades. The patriot and the 15 are very similar. And if you want real old school, get a commander. That's my two cents. I would get what I like, and in my case the roadhouse is on the top of my list. It is a real dilemma, so many good blades and so little money.

Thanks man ! Yeah it is a hard choice and it's funny you mentioned the 8 and the roadhouse because I was just checking those out and have really peaked my interest . But that darn Bowie is so sexy !
Personally I just don't care for that curve in the blade with the commander but it's just a preference .

You want a 13. It has a lot of what you want. A nice, long belly for cutting; needle sharp tip for those times it's needed; great ergonomic handle that works in any grip. It's hard to beat the robust nature and user friendly nature of the 13.

I'm leaning towards the 13 but that jungle commander is pretty nice I've been just checking out . Just not sure about that belly although I'm sure Functual im thinking sharpening on my edge pro might be tricky . I know the 13 I could produce I nice edge and that Bowie is wicked !

Ok I came close to getting the jungle commander but that belly on the blade just wasn't cutting it for me [emoji14]
I just bought a CQC-13 with the satin Bowie [emoji106]🏻

I carry a 2004 matte grey CQC-13 as a backup knife every day and I love it. The ergos are amazing and the blade shape is excellent for EDC tasks. I've owned and handled most of the Emerson bowie style blades including the Sheepdog, and the CQC-13 is my favorite by far.

This thread is worthless without pics

Good to hear !
And yes pictures to follow as soon as it arrives [emoji106]🏻
Love that picture of the use on the blade [emoji41]

I had a 13 and it wasn't for me. I prefer the Commander, 15 and my Super8

I really like the commander but just didn't like that belly on the blade but it's just a matter of taste. The super 8 is pretty sweet though .

Get the 13. I show this thing to guys that dont "care for" emersons and it changes their mind's immediately.
Best handle of the bunch IMO. And blade :)
They have vintage Matte finish blades like mine from 05 and 06 at BHQ. The older version looks more bad a$$ without the swedge
This is the only emerson I had ever wanted to try and it happens to be in the top 5 of all time for me.

*^ Thanks man ! The 13 should be here by the weekend I'm hoping but who knows . Got it on Blade HQ so not sure if it's the older or new version . They use to state they were 2005 and 2006 versions under the description and now it doesn't so I have to assume it's the newer version . Either way I'm a happy camper[emoji106]🏻

Whoo hooo!
Im excited for you. New or old it does not matter . They are all great.
Enjoy and great choice. Its amazing.
