I read that first line and had a mini-heart stoppage as if you discovered something I thought impossible - "enough Crabshack" but then I looked down - almost had me, almost.
 
I’m pseudo-new to the whole Busse thing... anyone mind explaining the CrabShackGanzaaa? Is this a regular thing? Please PM me if a response would just clutter the thread. TM

A "ganzaaa" is when Busse offers a few (or rarely many) knives on a first-come-first-served basis, either at a predesignated time or upon posting a "go" thread. Whoever gets their emails in first after the start time gets the knives. In many cases, there might be several of a particular model available.

Each ganzaaa typically gets its own name, line the 2019 CupidGanzaaa around Valentines day, VeteransDayGanzaaas, etc. As far as I know, this is the first time the CrabShackGanzaaa name has been used.

The "Crab Shack" is where Busse keeps its special handle makers. These are the guys who can turn a pine cone or a piece of wood a milkweed pod into a work of art. So we can expect custom shop knives with unusual to unique handles. And since it's going to be a miniscule ganzaaa, there won't be many knives available, and they'll probably all be gone within a few seconds, or minutes at the longest. But you won't know if you got one until a day or so later after Amy-0 has a chance to go through the emails and determine who scored and who didn't.

Sometimes, the knives aren't completed at the time the Ganzaaa is held, and it might take a few weeks for the knives to ship. I expect for this one, the knives will all be premade and ship pretty quickly.​

Also, hogs tend to trample one another trying to get to the trough first, and it's regarded as perfectly kosher (admirable even) to try to trick other would-be hogs into sending their emails early, or on the wrong day, or whatever.
 
Just don't let anyone fool you into sending your email early. Not a second before 9 p.m. EDT on Friday. And the folks at the shop are the most treacherous HOGs of the lot, so if Jerry or Amy-0 or Garth tells you something different, don't fall for it.

What's the handle material on 10A?

And those proportions look more than "minumental" to me. I was expecting something less on the "monumental" and more on the "minimal" side.
 
I'll be at work Thursday... and likely not available to email (unless there's nothing to prevent me from running to the bathroom). Definitely don't stand a chance if there's a posted Go to wait for. Lots of interesting handles, plus a handful that I actually like...and those are sitting on blades that I'd consider buying; so I guess some of my tax refund might get diverted (if i get lucky)

But unfortunately I have too many Busse knives already so will be sitting this one out.

***FRIENDLY REMINDER to all the Piglets*** since this year the Legislature just voted to do away with Daylight Savings Time in Ohio, you'll have to set you clocks forward +1 hour for each time zone you are east of Wauseon to get the true time IF YOUR STATE still observes DST. If you are west of Wauseon, you'll need to subtract 58 min for each time zone you are away-- if you were wondering, the extra 2 min. allows for the fact that the Earth rotates counterclockwise so the time arrives faster as it travels eastward when it gets caught in the Jet Stream.
