I was just wondering if anyone has ordered from Jack Crain lately. How is his business dealings currently or is he still like he always has been?

His name is anathema on BladeForums. Anyone ill-informed enough to consider doing business with him at this point deserves what they get, which will be nothing but grief.

Do a search.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

The last person that I know that dealt with him did so a couple of years ago, and the last I had heard he still had not received his knife. My recommendation is to avoid Jack Crain like you would the plague.

If you buy anything from Jack Crain, you empowering a thief to steal from other people. Don't do it. It is wrong.

The shame of it is that I like some of his knives a great deal, but that's nowhere near a good enough reason to deal with a maker like Jack Crain.

This is exactly the reason I refuse to take deposits. I'm SLOW. It's a shame to treat customers the way he has! Mike

He took me for a $100 deposit a little over a year ago. Too bad I hadn't visited this forum yet.

The big news is his website is now gone, as of 3/3/2007.

Does anyone know if he's still alive?

Your best bet if you want a Crain knife is buy one from someone who already has a Crain knife in his posession. One of Crains Battle Batons sold on ebay awhile back with a buy it now price of $650 or $675.The guy that had it was someone I've dealt with before so I wouldn't have had a problem buying from him.But from everything I've heard here on BFs and from a friend who gave him cash for a knife a couple of years ago; If you give Jack Crain money, you're just throwing it away.
:thumbdn:

Save yourself the time and headache, and throw your money directly in the toilet. Now flush. The end result will be the same.

just to let you guys know that i have been waiting for 8 months for the life support system 1 knife i ordred from jack crain ! i have gone down the road of putting a law suit against jack crain to recover my money or the knife from him i have also been in touch with the FBI and sent them an email reguarding internet frauld and postel frauld because jack is using both these methods to ripp people off i will update you soon kevhowelzy ps i have just bought the crain mcs knife from ebay the knife is fanastic better then lile knives i just hope i get the LS1 or im going to fly to weatherford and find jack my self i have really had enough of his shit.

hi guys, jack is alive and well...........unfortunately.........i sent an email recently enquiring about the LS1, i thought i'd see what type of response i got now, as i knew of jack many years ago.

jack i know you read these forums so pop an answer to this question on here.........how come you avoided jail for all these years, bank robbers will pay you a fortune for this kind of info, you don't have to pretend you make knives anymore...!!!

anyway, he replied to emails and guess what? it just so happened he had a customer that hadn't paid for an LS1 yet and it was mine if he hadn't heard from the guy in the next few days..............your all probably ahead of me by now, yep thats right.......no response from the guy so the knife was mine.

i asked for a photo of the knife on a copy of todays newspaper (today was back when i sent the email). yep your all ahead again.........no photo.

the cheeky bleeder even had the nerve to send me a stroppy email saying where the hell was his money he'd been waiting 3 weeks, so i replied no photo, no money.

to cut a long story short i never intended paying him a penny and i strongly advise anyone who reads this, regardless of how sincere and nice he is to you, you are dealing with a proffesional con-man. DO NOT DEAL WITH JACK.

one last thing.....he asked me once why i thought his knives got more money on ebay, so i replied when people buy crain knives from ebay there's a good chance they'll actually recieve them.
