It's also a brand new account made, from what I can tell, specifically for this thread. I still have not heard anything from the original poster.

As for every one else: thanks for the support!!!

I'm going to be looking into you guys as well. I've seen some nice blades by you, but the active responses in this thread really tipped my favor. Now to scrounge up some "non-savings cash". I'm a miserly fellow. :D

i would take a spyderco over any of these knives for a fraction of the price anytime anywhere.

I like Spyderco, and the Police Model is something that I collect, but there are very few flippers from Spyderco. The two Southard models, the Domino and the Dice....they range in price from $180.00 to $270.00 or so, MSRP and are made in Taiwan.

The Olamic Wayfarer is made of SIGNIFICANTLY different materials in the US, and retails for about $500.00....it is like comparing a Bradley to a Sebenza. Might look the same, but it doesn't work the same and it isn't the same.

If you don't want to pay the premium price for a premium product...that's fine, but I would say you are missing out.

Maybe you can take the money you save on cutlery, and help support BFC by becoming a contributing member..? You have certainly been around long enough.

Best Regards,

To be clear: the Wayfarer is currently 100% U.S. made at our new(ish) shop in California. Yes, we had our FIRST run finished in Russia from partly domestic components, but since then realized a dream of making them here. And so to be fair, we happily swap out early units for V2 ones. Each one is serialized and has a detailed history (you oughta see this spreadsheet...) to keep track.

I'm 99% sure OP is a defaming troll. If somebody called something that I put blood, sweat, and pride into making, "Garbage" I would tell him to go F himself... and his mother. Some people don't understand the nature of the beast when it comes to buying hand-made custom knives. You're not going to get a precision machined anything if it's hand made. Every custom knife I own where a part was not milled/cnc'd has some slight variation/imperfections on it.

Speaking from personal experience as a person who has sold knives on the 2ndary market.... I HATE those people who examine the knife under a microscope and feels compelled to point out every single little small imperfection the knife has. I can't imagine the BS a knife dealer or custom knife maker has to deal with on a daily basis with these wankers.

I've got 3 Brouse Blades a Divison, Mini Divison and a Reloader and the fit and finish are perfect on all of them.

The OP has never responded again, and the "Reate" fellow had pretty bad English when he surfaced a few months back.

I think this is baiting and with only seven posts, clearly something is amiss IMO. Should be ignored.

Suddenly it belongs to a "friend?" when a solution is proposed? WHATEVER.

maybe. but i sure shouldn't contact brous blades.
because very strange guy Jason (did anybody hear that name?) never answers email. interesting what is he doing, if he isn't really WORKING on knives.

Strange. When I had an uneven grind on a Silent Soldier I emailed Brous Blades about it and got a personal response from Jason Brous, who sent me a new knife the day after they received the flawed one. Had the new knife 5 days after emailing Brous Blades.

Had not looked at Olamic before seeing this thread this morning, but was so impressed with their customer service, I looked at their site. I love some of those folders! I'll be trying one out soon.

Eugene of Olamic went out of his way to try and find me a Wayfarer with pure CF (no bolsters or inlays) but couldn't find any. Hopefully, I'll get one at some point. Worth the wait. Exceptional CS.

I asked Eugene about a specific model of knife like two months ago. He said he didn't have any in stock. Lo and behold, two months later he sent me a complete listing of knives in that model that were in stock. At that point I was out of the market but it struck me as respectable and a sign that their customer service is top notch if he at least kept me in mind two months after my simple inquiry. Next time I'm in the market, I will be going with Olamic. Little things like that go A LONG way. That and everything he says here in this forum screams great customer service.

Love olamic but their folders are too big for my personal EDC. Eagerly awaiting the day the produce a 3.5-3 inch folder, if it ever comes. I really dig their fixed blades as well.

so, is it handmade or almost all of you say it is perfect in all way? you should choose some road you going, one of two, not both. so who is troll now? i made pictures, now you trying to proof you have perfect ones. then make pictures don't lie to me! i saw new olamics at bladehq, they are all the same as one i pictured. maybe slightly better. clip is the same 100%. awful.

So then return yours and get one that is "slightly" better. THAT will be proof, not pictures, those can be edited... Since Eugene is willing to replace it, I am sure he would personally inspect it to make sure that you receive a Great specimen.

But, if you aren't here to actually exchange the knife and have your issues fixed, then please lock this thread. There is no use in pointing fingers and making accusations when Eugene is willing to correct any issues you have.

This thread is only missing some comparable closeups of a real Olamic to help anyone reading see its quality. True that Eugene has better things to do but it'd still be cool.

I finger f***ed some olamic knives back on June 6th in Atlanta and there were no glaring manufacturing faults like what this guy is talking about. I only saw and held quality knives. Is it possible they cherry picked knives for that show? I guess, but based on the totality of the circumstances, I doubt it. I'm very inclined to believe Eugene when he says that the first run or two runs came up crappy and that the problems are fixed. The fact that there's an abundance of desire by Olamic to make that situation right, and a complete lack of desire by the op to let them make it right, should make the situation clear.
