Crazy auction price!

then it was deleted like it never existed

You know the same thing happened to that old school SJ. I asked the seller what happened. He said that ebay shut it down no questions or explanations. So keep your eyes peeled, it might be the same situation and the seller will have to re-list it.

you guys know if you really want something it doesnt matter how much it is. there is a set of knives involved here, a total of 4 1997 Busses all dead drop mint. if you were trying to put a original set together and you allready had part of that set with original documentation.

This is probably very true. But the one thing that protects you is that you don't have to bid.

I do buy knives from ebay, but I set a limit on what I think it may be worth and move on once the price goes beyond that. With this method they can have as many shills as they want, it won't matter to me.

Recently I saw a Spyderco Military sell for $400 usd. You can get one all day long form one of a thousand places for no more that $124usd.

I like to call buyers like this "wood ducks" because they nod yes to everything. :D :D

I follow the same practice when I bid. I try not to even look back at ebay until the auction has ended that way I am not tempted to bid more. I have the fever sometimes and need the buffer. :D

I can help on the SHBA....it was at $707 when the auction ended. Didn't see a bump so I'm sticking with $707!!

If the SHBA is gone, perhaps the seller made a deal with the high bidder to make it two for one and thus the high price paid for the BBSHSHII. Who knows.

You know PG, if that's what happened he cost himself a lot of cash.

The second highest bidder would have been bidding the auction straight.

Subtract $50 from the final SH bid, add $1200 for the BA = $$$money.

This is from my email from the unnamed auction site at the end of the BA auction:

BUSSE COMBAT KNIFE CO - BADGER ATTACK

Sale price: $1,138.99

Cripes! I have a mint condition SHSH (1998/A2) that my buddy sold me last month for $350. I offered him more than that but he wouldn't take a penny more than $350. I guess I have good friends.:D

WOW  I watched it end but didn't refresh after prolly 15 seconds left. Alot happened during that short time. That is way outa my league. I guess am real happy now for the one I have and I price I paid  :D

Like a lot of others have said .If you want something bad enough , you will find a way to get it . Price is really not considered when your in the Kool Aid Zone . :) Guilty .

Now that one is nuts. Your 697 bid was about right as to value.

It's not a BS sale, the buyer post here.

I recognize the name and may have done business with him years back. But, back then, SHSHII's were in the $475-$525 range.

Glad I kept a couple and, no they aren't for sale so don't ask.

Rob

I really ought to send Amy-O an e-mail and do the HOG thing. LOL

This one was relisted and sold a couple of weeks ago.

When did it go from a BBSH to a BBSHSHII?
Still a very cool knife.

Well, actually it is a BBSHSHII. The very first BBSH were smaller and ATS34. Then came the larger ones in A2, then the round pommel in both A2 and INFI.

That's why the ASHI has a 6 1/2" blade rather than the 7 1/2" blade of the later SH's.

There is no mistaking a BBSHI with ANYTHING else. About the most beautiful Busse ever.

Comparison pics would help, but I don't have them and the prices I was talking about refered to the round pommel SHSH's, both A2 and INFI.
