I know there would be some contrast, but I thought at 3000 layers you wouldn't be able to tell the two steels apart. I guess I was wrong...

Actually, this is more pattern than I wanted but I like it, I was thinking like you and was a bit surprised by the contrast. Next time I'll go to 6000 or 9000 and see what it looks like.
